ok ladies Im having a hard time today...

...and I know I am not alone..but I am sooo sad.
I was in a conference rm here at workk this am listening to the kids calling the names, the bells ringing and it all just comes flooding back....

no surprise to you veteran posters here..but Im in tears. (I guess I would be the one voted most likely to cry at the drop of a hat!)

just wanted to feel the love out there.
I know you all are very supportive of each other...even though we can disagree about the memorials...so I just wanted to send out a hug to all of you.

Thanks ladies...
NEVER FORGET DAMMIT!

Re: ok ladies Im having a hard time today...

I was in the shower this morning and Proud to be an american came on the radio and I just started hysterically crying

I got a newspaper this morning and was reading about a father who lost his 2 daughters and the tears just wouldnt stop.

All morning I have been so sad. My friend who works on Wall Street was telling me how its so calm and quiet by her.

It brought back too many painful memories for me when I worked there.

Its a very sad day today.

I just feel extremely bad for all the families and what they are going through. The thought of what our family's friend's widow must be feeling breaks my heart. She hasnt left her house in 2 years. She quit her job, and basically sits home all day.

I'm right there with you Phyl.... I was in Union Square this morning on my way to the office. I just had to stop... I keep getting flashbacks as well, with the weather and all, it's just too familiar...

I can't watch anything reflecting what happened that day without tears running down my face.

cheryl, you're so right about the weather, while I was walking to my office I kept thinking it's almost an identical day, just maybe a little chillier. I feel very lost today, I really can't explain it, but there's a definite emptiness, I'm just going through the motions while at work... And like some of the other posters my eyes are glassy because there are tears continually forming.

I too am sitting in my office listening to the TV. I can't believe that is has been too years. So much has happened since then and I can't help but feel thankful, but I am sooooooooooo sad for those that had their lives stand still.

Phyl and everyone!! I can't watch the TV, it's too depressing. I remember it like it was yesterday! I just want to hug my Peanut today.

We lost my husband's aunt and my friend's sister on that day ....26 days before our wedding. So sad for everyone.

The weather definitly brings back all the sadness. The sky is so blue today. Last year it was a very windy day and today the wind is back.

I know how you feel Phyl. I am at home and as much as I didn't want to turn on the TV this morning, I did anyway. I have honored the moments of silence with thoughts for the families of those lost. It is truly a sad day.

Kathi special hugs for you today. I remember you posting that when it happened. I know from experience how very difficult it was to continue with wedding plans. We were married only 12 days later (the same day as the memorial service in Yankee Stadium).

Here are hugs to you and your hubby!

Re: ok ladies Im having a hard time today...

It's very sad for me as well. I was right in the middle of 9/11/03 and my FH is a fireman. Last year for the 1 year anniversary we were able to work from home since it was too painful for many of us to travel into the city. This is the first time I had to travel into Manhattan on the anniversary. The streets are so somber. I walked up 51st Street this morning (between 3rd and Lex) and they had the street closed off because there is a firehouse right next to a police precinct. A whole bunch of firemen were outside lining up in their Class A uniforms and a bunch of policemen were linign up in their dress blues and there were newspeople there, etc. I started tearing up right on the street. My CEO came down from Germany today to give a speech but I could not bring myself to attend. I've been listening to the radio all morning in my office and they keep playing patriotic songs and I keep tearing up. I purposely didn't wear red, white and blue today because I didn't want a constant reminder of such a sad time, but it looks like it's inevitable. I can't wait to go home and hug FH and tell him how much I love him

Chin up, it will get better with time. Feel all the feelings that you have to. Remember and this too shall pass. I tried not to listen to anything today, b/c I know how sad it would make me.

Thought I would share this:

The biggest lessons I was reminded of are simply…

All security outside of yourself is an illusion
– the only true security is inside our eternal soul.

Trust and Know that everything is according to plan that
even a tragic occurrence like this is for our higher good.

Celebrate Life – Enjoy Everyday – Be Happy - Live now for none of us know how long we will be here.

Live your life to the fullest Carpe Diem! Seize the day.
Make your lives extraordinary! DO IT NOW!!!

Be grateful for every moment you are blessed to be here.
Do something for someone today that will make their day better.

To all of you, my family, friends and associates, I wish
for you good health, abundant love, happiness and peace.

I am with you all with the crying. My mom's friend's son perished on that day. He was 24 years old and a painter on the roof of Tower 1. When his name was read at the ceremony my sister had to call me and my mom to listen to his name being read. I started to cry. I am going to go to church tonight to light a candle and pray for everyone.

the new guy in my office just said a few minutes ago that he could hear them playing Taps from his office window... Today will always be a rough day.

I was sitting in the faculty caferteria and we were listening to the children reading all the names and it broke my heart. I was trying sooooo hard not to cry because I had a class the next period. I don't know if this day will ever get easier.

's to everyone!
