Well..on a positive note...I thought you are your husband looked great! And I got a kick out of seeing you because I was familiar with you from here, and yes, I agree that you are the 'normal couple' on the show. I was not suprised that most of the people on this show are over the top cause that is what they do on reality tv...if the people were low-key and 'normal' it would be boring, right?

I was disappointed though that we hardly saw you in this episode!! Hopefully we will see more of you in upcoming shows. I will definately keep watching and I look forward to seeing your wedding on the finale!

I'm sorry I didn't like it. I hope it was that VH1 edited peole to look badly. I mean we all have spats while wedding planning... my DH and I argued in the tuxedo place too that was totally normal but it seemed like everyone else was acting for the camera or just insane.

ITA with this. I think the worst part was Johnny meatballs fiance kept talking about how 'classy' she wanted her wedding to be - that word gets thrown around a lot. I wrote on the other thread that it bothers me the way Italians and Italian-Americans are portrayed and it's just not a fair depiction. I think it is kind of offensive. JMO.

But why were you speechless?

ITA with both of you!
I did not like the show at all and I really wanted to. I think shows like this, show Italian-brooklyn, Italian-NJ, Italian-Staten Islanders not Italian-americans. Having an NY/NJ accent does not make people sound Italian. In Italy no one speaks like any of thees people on these reality shows.

Sandra, don't feel bad, you took a chance and you had no clue how it would be edited. the producers see that jersy shore is a success that they probably wanted to make 'jersy shore weddings' And you and Joey seemed most normal.

It drives me insane!! And I'm willing to bet that none of these so-called 'italians' have ever been to Italy or know anything about Italian culture, history, or even the language!! It's awful!

Sandra, I'm sorry you are disappointed. But Marie is right, you couldn't predict how it would turn out, but what did you expect to be done differently?

I was so psyched to see an LIW bride! I asked Fh to DVR it and we watched it late last night. When we didn't see much of you in the preview, I even commented 'They probably had the least drama.'

It's always like that on reality tv shows, they don't give the 'normal' people as much air time. So I didn't feel that I saw much of you two. I felt that you guys came off as likeable though.

Overall, it was kind of boring. I feel like every network is trying to ride the jersey shore money train and this time, it didn't really work. Johnny meatballs is so annoying and definitely trying to use this show to blow up.

I will continue to watch though to see you guys! I can't wait to see the episode when you get married!

I'm speechless because I thought it was terrible. I literally read the blogs, and you are on the same page as them; Joey and I are the Normal ones. Thank God we are! LOL but its disappointing.

I didnt get to see the whole thing but I saw about three scenes including you guys in the tuxedo shop. You definitely seemed the most normal ones and you looked great. That said, I'm sure you were aware that they were going to edit everything to seem as dramatic and 'unclassy 'as possible. Did you get to meet the others in person? Were they as crazy as they seemed?

Re: ok so HONEST OPINIONS!!! MBFW

I turned it on in the bedroom and recorded it.. then went downstairs and asked DH if he'd watch it with me... we made it to the first commercial before he was like 'i can't watch this'...

megin and johnny... W T F? she's working 10 hours and he's designing tshirts to some make believe company.. i get it, he's excited about it.. but like.. FOCUS! and he's just a joke.. his ideas for the wedding... wow

the blonde chick that boasts about having a juicy stroller, LV bag, etc... she said she wasn't sure she'd marry her DH if they didn't have a kid. so why marry him?

Tammie and Daniel were okay.. very honest and fun... I feel bad for him that her family wasn't as 'welcoming' as his was... at least, thats what it sounded like she was saying in the beginning.

um... the tattoo couple.. I didn't like.

now onto the craziest of couples... LOL

honestly... I wanted to see MORE of the two of you... I feel like because you two are the most 'normal' couple that they didn't give you as much airtime on the series premier... but it looks like the show gets a little better (from a viewers/dramatic side)... what the hell happens with your DH? I'm itching to know..
btw- you look AMAZING on camera..

I think I'm going to try and watch it... its not what I pictured.. I pictured something like platinum weddings mixing with bridezillas, not the jersey shore meets bridezillas hanging out with the real world.

did the show edit things to be more dramatic?? I know reality shows are known to do that... they edit things to make it more dramatic.

I hope nobody is offended by my reply.. its just MHO.

I AGREEEEEE!!! It makes me embarrassed to be italian, as NO ONE in my family talks, acts or thinks anywhere near that!!!
I have to say it was like any other reality tv show, with people trying to be the next situation! I cant get over how obnoxious jonny meatballs is, and I;m sorry but if I was screaming at anyone on my wedding day they would never find that persons body! Its your wedding there should be no reason for fighting.

ita. i really wanted to LIKE the show. and i made DH watch it. but he didnt think it was funny and he couldnt stand most of the people.

one question we were askin eachother - the girl with the kid, LV purse, big house, and benz...what the heck do they do for a living to afford that?? we were scratchin our heads

DH really wasnt enjoying it, so i told him he could turn it off. i DVR'd it, so i will try to watch it tonight

sandra - you looks great and its obvious you guys dont have a lot of 'drama'....im hoping it gets a lot better and you two stay looking classy

I also DVR'd it and ended up just forwarding to your parts! In all honesty I thought the show was terrible, its more about fighting than weddings at this point. I don't understand the current obession with all things 'guido'. Like someone said earlier, its not 'italian' to do those things, its more the NY/NJ culture. at least you and Joe represented the rest of us 'normal' people well

I know it was a starter episode but I highly doubt that I'll watch it again. I just can't stand watching train wrecks like that blonde girl who seriously needs some help.

But you guys looked great

Re: ok so HONEST OPINIONS!!! MBFW

Its reality TV - if they showed people acting normal and the just the regular day to day wedding planning the show would be called LIW tv- lol. It is what it is, The premise is based on my big fat greek wedding, its supposed to be crazy and chaotic. Im glad that there yall are on the more normal side cause the blonde is annoying, her mothers a train wreck and they look so young - who the f cares about your juicy stroller its not a friggin Bugaboo. We have to expect people to play it up for the camera and there going to edit like crazy to make it exciting.
I dont 100% agree and its JMO that certain cultures are being depicted inaccurately. Some people play up their 'italian-ness' to what they think is how there supposed to act. I do know people who act just like the situation and snookie etc.. Maybe its a shame that its what we see mostly on TV but alot of people do act like that.
Ok lets make our LIW friend and her hubby the break out stars of the show !!!

FH and I watched it last night...we laughed but we were kinda confused with other couples there that we weren't such if it was acted or if it was real life. like Johny Meatballs and the blonde girls who was drunk everytime they showed her. Other than that we love you guys.

Yeah that was a pretty bad show last night… Like everyone else said you guys seemed to be the most normal, (but theres a lot more to come lol-jk) I just don’t get why people would want to go on a show like this and degrade themselves the way they did, maybe if they were giving away a free house or something I would do it! That poor girl with her “juicy” stroller & Louie bag- get a grip you look like a fool!

Did you guys get anything for doing this show or will you when its over? How many episodes are there?

And as long as you guys had fun doing it thats all that really matters!!

FH really wanted to be on the show- and we thought it would of been worth it (not going to say any more bout that) Its TV - its fun and he thinks hes so great he should be on TV and his friends are friggin hilarious - some people just want a shot to ham it up - 15 minutes of fame- you know
