Ok we just got engaged like 3 weeks ago. We wanted a Summer of 08 wedding. We booked at Giorgios (love it). But I am starting to freak out that I don't have enough time. It seems like everyone else has so much done already. I haven't done anything else yet besides book my hall. Am I really far behind? HELP Thanks

I only have my church and hall oh..and dj booked. I am getting married in March.. do not worry about it! Do things after you check out all of the vendors you want!

Thanks that really helps. I was starting to wonder if I should be waiting until 2009. We already have a house and have been together for 4 years. Seems pointless to wait any longer!

You're really not that far behind. A lot of us either just want to get everything done quickly or we've been engaged for a while and have had nothing else to do . Honestly though, you will have to start making selections and getting out there because the summer is big for weddings and if you have any vendors that you absolutely have to have, you should start calling them now. But with everything else that you're not entirely picky about, you still have plenty of time. You just shouldn't put what you want the most on the back burner, because it could be gone when you get out there to look.

nope, only a few of us have so much done and I think because of that we all stress out. In reality, we have over a year (well most us do) to plan our wedding which is more than enough time. Don't freak out, start making appts with photographers and dj's, you can probably book them within the month! ps-I'm going to a wedding @ giorgio's in june!

Don't worry about it, my wedding is June 2008 and I just started to book vendors last night! The only thing that I did find was that you might want to book the photographer/videographer first because they book early.

You have PLENTY of time!!!
You have 3 months longer than I had- (from engagement to wedding) and I didn't start booking or looking at dresses til the 9 month mark!

Dont stress -- I only have my RH and DJ booked. I dont even have appts. with other vendors yet, nor have I started making any of my DIY stuff. I think I may start in the summer. Plenty of time!!!!!!!!!!!

You still have plenty of time..By cousin got engaged in january and just booked her hall and nothing else.. a lot of us have been engaged for a while (me over a year) which is why we have a lot done already.

I AM SUMMER 08 TOO-all i have is the hall ... next step is DJ and then photographer but its hard to manage everything and plan a wedding too. sad and stressed lately. probably can't meet with dj till end of month. ..hope its not too late...

Im getting married next march and havent booked anything yet! Relax take a deep breath, and take your time, if you do everything now, you'll have nothing left later and the year will go by slower and youll anticipate it more. I think its everyone own personal decision, some want to get everything out of the way in the first month, some spread it out, you'll be fine. :)

You will be fine...these girls are giving you great advise. My best friend is getting married 6/6/08 and she only has her hall and dj booked. Trust me...you hang out on here a little more and you'll get the bug to start booking...

I'm in the same boat, got engaged about three weeks ago and I booked my church and reception hall but nothing else. Thought I would be able to cruise for a little bit but I guess I should get on photographer and music soon too. FH and I live in Philly so I'm going to be putting in a lot of miles to NY.

You still have alot of time dont freak out...I know people who JUST got engaged and still have to do everything...One person i know who just got engaged are getting married this year in 9 months, and people have planned weddings in less time. You will be fine, i freak out too bc i see so many people have done so much and all I did was book Church, Rh and photography, and everybody has been done for a while...But now i am gonna go tuesday book florist, then make appointments for limo and dj...After that though i wont do things for a while, as long as i have them booked i will be fine.
