OK, Volunteering Update, I picked a cause, who's in?

start doing volunteer work. Does anyone else do any? And does anyone know of any organizations that are in need of people to help? I've just been wanting to volunteer for a long time, but was honestly too busy, and now that I have the time, I really think I should.

Im a Brownie Leader in Massapequa on Mondays. I always said I was too busy to do anything like that but when the opportuinty fell in my lap I grabbed it up sooo fast!!! I love working with the girls and I love planning trips and doing stuff with them!!

What kind of volunteering did you want to do?

Well, as much as I love kids, I'm a teacher and I think I would like to do something other than working with kids, just for a change. But that sounds like fun Lisa!

I'm not sure where you're located, but I'm in Suffolk, and I found their chapter there. You can look at it on www.hfhsuffolk.org.

Ok, apparently they like organized groups rather than individual walk ons, maybe some other people would be interested? Anyone?

If anyone would like to get a small group together for Habitat for Humanity in Suffolk, please let me know. They prefer groups and I think it would be something good to do! Thanks girls!

I would be interested in doing something with children...

I have looked into many organizations for babies that are born without mothers (due to illness, mothers in prison, drug addicted) They used to call them boardababies...but no luck!

Before I got all crazy busy, I used to do volunteer work for 'Dress for Success' and also for the special Olympic games when they are in Nassau @ Mitchell Field. (now I think they are at Hofstra actually.)

where in suffolk? (since its far for me) I'd do it in queens or nassau
I helped with Habitat once.. i know the guy who used to be the head guy in Atlanta with Jimmy Carter. I would love to do it again!!!
