OK Yankees now it's on!!!

This is an excerpt from today's Daily News -- apparently they want to 'get the Mets out of the way' because the 'real' rivalry is coming to town next week. What an insult!!

They're gonna get more than they bargained for

The Yankees kicked around several ideas for a makeup date for the rainout of last night's Subway Series opener, but they ultimately preferred to play the Mets twice tomorrow instead of using up Monday's off-day because the Red Sox are coming into town next week.

'We wanted that off-day before the Boston series,' GM Brian Cashman said, making it clear which series the Yankees consider the big rivalry.

The Yankees always do that.. Bunch of babies.
Steinbrenner himself will have Torre change the rotation on a number of occasions.. and make baseball commish do what he wants.

Here's hoping the Mets and the BoSox kick some pinstriped butt!

Though I do understand the Yankees pooint of view.. those prima-donnas are a bunch of total divas.

Well the Mets better win this series. They have the clear pitching advantage.

I'll take Leiter / Traschel / Ginter

over

Halsey / Contreas / Mussina

Anytime!

Alright, stop cracking on my Yankees. I may live 5 mins from Shea but I love my Yanks. It is not my fault that they are an overpaid group of babies but they are awesome. I can't beleive that they would rather play the cursed team then the Mets!! That is absolutely insane.

Hehehehe its all good.

I am looking forward to this series. I am really curious to see how all those bats the Yanks have perform against the best pitching staff in the entire league.

Good luck to both teams! 1hr till gametime!

way to go mets hopefully they will keep it up.

I'm psyched that last nights game got rained out!! I just got 4 tickets for the makeup tomorrow!! Yeahhhhhhh!!!!!!

I'll have to give a big fat thank you to my boss whos tickets they are!!!

Makes sense to me. Boston is their rival, not the Mets. The games against Boston count more in the standings.

I completely agree.

Talk about sensitivity, eh?

The Yanks are ready-bring it on Mets!

LET'S GO YANKEES!!!!

I'm off to the game!!!

ETS: I am bringing a Met's fan with me.... I feel guilty!!! But my brother, sister & I will keep him in line!!

Definately true! The series with the Mets is more for the NY fans then for rivalry or standings. Go Yankees!!!
