Okay ladies-help calm me down!!

Original post by dgirl0114

Hi,

Ok, my ex-husband just called and is coming to my job at 4:30 when I get out because he needs to talk to me for two minutes. I'm so mad at myself for not just asking him on the phone what it is about. But I always get nervous talking to him. So now I'm sitting here coming up with horrible thoughts in my head & freaking myself out. I have already told everyone here that he's coming so they know to be on the alert. Just have no idea what it could be about and it's probably nothing but the mind can play alot of games with you.

Thanks for letting me vent.

I'm trying to get his cell# from one of our mutual friends so I can call him and let him know that I had to leave work early but if he wants to talk on the phone we can. Yes, he knows I'm getting married. We actually spoke about three weeks ago on the phone because his sister was emailing me asking me how can I be getting married when I'm not even divorced (Hello, we've been divorced for over a year & a half.) She said he wasn't aware of it and why was I worried that he was going to ruin my wedding. So I ended up calling him to straighten some things out. He thought he signed separation papers, not divorce papers. I told him I was upset because he was threatening FH. He said he never did. Just the whole thing back & forth. I ended up sending him another copy of divorce papers.

um, now i would be pretty worried. he didn't know he signed divorce papers? i don't know your situation... but that sounds extremely fishy to me.

I agree... I wouldnt see him... try to get his number!

Wow. I hope it didn't come as a blow.
So he's been filing taxes separate but married all this time, huh?

I would not meet with him, if you can get in touch with him...be careful!

Leave earlier! So you won't have to see him!

If you're nervous, have a co-worker or a small group come outside w/ u.

No, we don't have kids; that's why I don't see any reason why we should have to talk.

Then definitely call him and don't see him......I just saw the time hopefully it all went well. Keep us posted.

Re: Okay ladies-help calm me down!!

Hi, ladies,

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm okay. I left work early and managed to get him on the phone. He still won't tell me what he has to talk to me about. He said he has to do it in person-but it will only take two minutes & it's nothing to worry about. Then, why can't he just tell me over the phone???? Anyway, I'm home with FH now and I feel much better. Thank you all for your thoughts & concerns-it means alot.

As for the wedding, he knows about it happening but not sure if he knows the where & when. I am trying to make mutual friends understand that him having this information would not be good.

I will keep you all posted and thank you again.
Have a wonderful weekend.

i am glad... but still concerned. why does it have to be in person?

i would tell your FH if you haven't already... and i think, if it were me (and no, i've never been in this situation) that i would simply tell my ex that there is no way i am going to see him alone in person, and he's going to have to find a way to tell me whatever it is he has to say. it just seems so sketchy to me.

be careful!

I agree..... very fishy. If he can't tell you why he wants to meet, and you haven't seen him recently, it is VERY suspicious.

PLEASE be careful when you talk to him! If you can have someone at least with you!

I agree..... DO NOT go by yourself to meet him. Bring someone or just INSIST you would feel more comfortable doing this over the phone.......tell him that if he can't tell you over the phone, then it can't be that important......see what he says.

Be careful!

I am glad you are safe but if and when you meet up with him please don't go alone!!! Have someone with you or in a public place with a mutual friend or a friend... Be safe and I hope everything works out! Keep us posted as to what he wanted to talk to you about!!

Hi, ladies,

Ok, one of my friends suggested that I give ex a call and have him meet me at work. She said if not you're going to be crazy these next two weeks wondering what it's about and when is he going to call again instead of enjoying yourself. What do you guys think? Should I just call him & arrange to meet or should I just forget about it and hope he doesn't call again?

Re: Okay ladies-help calm me down!!

do you really want to know what he has to say? even if it's just curiousity?

if yes, then tell him you will not be meeting him in private, no matter what, and if what he has to say is so important, he can come to your office and say it there.

if no, then just forget about it and enjoy these last two weeks of your engagement!

i know for myself, i'd be curious... but IMO, if you can, i would just let it go. no sense in dwelling in the past.

I would NOT meet him alone and I'd NEVER bring this drama to my place of business. I'd tell him he can say whatever he has to say to you over the phone or not at all because you are NOT going to meet up with him.

If he comes to work, call security. If he resists security, they will call the police. Does he know where you live? Why do you keep in touch with his sister?

I would start to sever all ties with him AND his family, as it seems you really don't want anything to do with him.

I find a lot of it creepy, so PLEASE be careful!

Re: Okay ladies-help calm me down!!

This really is a tough one because on one hand you just want to ignore him and get on with your life (which is what he should be doing) and on the other you are both curious and worried that he will do something to ruin your wedding and would like to just speak to him so you can get it out of your mind and hopefully his. The only one that can make the decision as to which way to go is you. You know him the best. I'm sorry he is doing this to you right now and I will say a prayer that he just stays away and moves on.

Good luck.

Re: Okay ladies-help calm me down!!

Meeting with an ex who did not know you where actually divorced from each other, sounds a little scary. I don't like it. And why does it have to be in person. Is he planing on serving you with divorce contest papers? I would not meet with him in person. Anything he needs to say to you can be done over the phone. Period. However only you can make that decision. Good luck.

Re: Okay ladies-help calm me down!!

I really do just want to let it go. Believe me, I do not keep in touch with his family. His sister emailed me out of the blue.

I have no desire whatsoever to see him in person. And I feel there's nothing he can't tell me over the phone. So as of right now, I'm making the decision to not worry about this. If he calls again, then I'll deal with it.

And if I have to have low-key security at my wedding, just in case, then I will. Hopefully, these thoughts in my head are just craziness and nothing will happen but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Thank you ladies for all of your support and I will definitely keep you updated if anything else happens. Please say prayers for me & FH that our wedding day goes smoothly.
