Okay NEW Mommies...

One of my friends is having her shower in May and I would love any input on your favorite gifts and anything someone did or you that was really unique like theme gift baskets. Any ideas would be great

My little bundle isn't here yet, but what about an essentials basket? You could include diapers, onesies, babybath, baby lotion, receiving blankets, binkies, powder, diaper creme, rattles, booties, etc. Wrap it up in a pretty basket

One thing that I thought was really cute, that my sister did, was putting many cute outfits on a clothesline. Here's a picture. From outfits for all seasons, so little shoes, and she also put the words 'BABY [our last name]' One letter per page...I'll try to find another picture. She changed the whole look of my great room, it was adorable!

I went to a friends shower and she received a nice white wicker hamper filled with onsies, cloth diapers, wipes, etc. and then hamper was wrapped in a beautifully in tuelle. I thought it was a nice idea. I definitely used my hamper with my son.

Another idea, a baby bath tub and fill it will soap, lotions, washclothes, towel etc. I got a baby visor to put on their head so the dont get soap in their eyes.

I've seen the clothesline thing done before, but not hanging in the room - I've seen a hamper used for it, and you open the hamper and pull the string out and all the little outfits are attached to it. Very cute either way, tho!

I've seen the clothesline too but it came from a basket. The Mom to be was given the one end to pull out and all these clothes kept coming. Very cute.

Are you involved in throwing it? I ask b/c at my shower they had a 'reading well' - I guess in place of a wishing well (do they even do wishing wells at baby showers?), everyone was asked to bring their favorite baby book for the bookshelf and I ended up with lots of baby books. I loved it!!

I think a Baby Proofing basket is a great idea or a baby bath time basket.
Another really nice idea is a Mommy Time basket- filled with some things for a new mom to enjoy and relax with- maybe a manicure gift certificate, bubble bath, a pretty candle stuff like that.
My stepmom also gave my SIL a really nice nightgown, a robe for the hospital and new slippers. I thought that was a great idea since you take so many photos and have vistors. If you put some trial size shower items with it, the mom-to-be can just pack it all in her hospital bag and be almost packed.
