Re: okay ... So technicaly
its really up to you and the bridal party. sometimes the mother of the bride handles it, sometimes its the bridal party, sometimes the bride. i think it really depends on the finances.

Re: okay ... So technicaly
My shower was planned by my BM and my mother and other BM helped out. The best thing at mine was the newlywed game with gum. They had a list of questions they asked FH and if I got a question wrong I had to put a piece of Hubba Bubba in my mouth. It was disgusting but fun.

Re: okay ... So technicaly
my mom & sister (MOH) are planning the entire bridal shower. my mom is footing the bill.
if you are looking for game ideas, at my friends shower, her sister asked her FH questions then at the shower asked her the same questions to see how well she knows him. every time she got one wrong she was given a piece of bubble gum. she ended up with about 8 pieces of gum.
at my cousins shower, my aunt made up bridal shower bingo cards. as my cousins opened the gifts you would have to cross them off on the paper, if you got bingo you would win a prize.

Traditionally? The BM's and MOH take care of it.
But old school tradition is quickly flying out the window.
My mom and FMIL are splitting my shower 50/50.

Re: okay ... So technicaly
my mom funded the shower, and my sister helped plan it. My FSILs planned 'bridal bingo' where people plugged in what they thought I would get, and then crossed them off to win a prize. People loved it, and it kept them focused on the present opening - I would recommend!

Re: okay ... So technicaly
I paid for my shower (we only had 15 people for brunch out) and I planned the entire thing. I had people RSVP to my MOH and mom, though, to keep them involved since they weren't able to plan. I made all the gift bags and planned all the games. We played bridal bingo, which was fun, and I had a plate for everyone to sign, as well as playing a game I made of 'how well do you know the bride'. I got little prizes gifts and gave them out too. We ate at one of my favorite brunch places in Park Slope, and several of us went out to get our nails done after.
My mom was awaiting a kidney transplant and was seeing doctors constantly and under way too much stress to be able to plan for me, but wanted me to have a party. (She also couldn't afford it because of the upcoming surgery.) My MOH and BM live in Boston and NC so they couldn't feasibly plan it. But everyone wanted me to do something, so I did it myself, and I think we had a lot of fun.

Re: okay ... So technicaly
my MOH(sis) is planning but my mom and aunt kinda let on that they are going to help out if needed... my BM may help out but they are not proving to be super helpful...so we will see!

My shower is being paid for by my mom but my BP is taking care of all the planning. I think it really depends on who can afford it.

Re: okay ... So technicaly
I had 2 showers:
1. FI's family lives in South NJ and many older relatives could not travel so FMIL paid for this shower
2. NYC shower - my mom and MOH (my sister) paid for it. BM's did not pay

Re: okay ... So technicaly
My mother paid for mine and planned most things, and my MOHs (sisters) took care of a lot of other details. My other BMs took care of some games and some decorations, and another BM did jack shiz.
I LOVED that my BMs made a bow-bra for me instead of a bow-hat or a bow-bouquet...I didn't know about it until the very last second when they literally tied me to my chair with it. The surprise of my shower was ruined months before the day, and that was my only true surprise that day, and the pictures of my reaction were priceless!
