So... we got the house yesterday (Monday), Pete and I went there after work, and started walking around the house w/faces of & .... the carpets are ruined, the floors are disgusting, the house is filthy all over, and the worst friggin part..... THERE ARE ROACHES!
Could I be any more mad????? I hate bugs & I hate dirt even more than that.... I started working last night - said the he11 w/it to school, bought a tremendous amount of Clorox Clean-Up, and Windex cleaner w/Vinegar in it, Pine Sol.... the whole 9 yards...
Would you believe that it took me a half hour to clean one window - the window sills were black.... HOW DO PEOPLE LIVE LIKE THIS????????

I would get an exterminator we use suburban, we had carpenter ants last year and since I have my contract, I have not found one ant!! thank God!

Lisa what does your father say?? You should take care of the roach problem before it gets warmer. Those critters will do anything to stick around. EEK they gross me out... My solution to grit & grime is clorox. I used it so much once I almost passed out. Just make sure to open the windows to ventilate the rooms.

Roaches! Get an exterminator quick! People can be soooooo disgusting!!!
When one of my friends got married, they bought their house from her father - he had been renting it for about 5 years or so. The tenant had animals he kept in the front room, including a bird who walked (flew?) around that room freely, and CRAPPED all over the floor! They had to completely gut the room to get all the filth and stench out!

I'm so sorry you got stuck with such a disaster! What pigs!! Get an exterminator asap and DON'T hesitate to call your lawyer and have him put a hold on those escrow funds. That's what they are there for. You didn't know about these problems when you did the walk through and I'm sure they were not kind enough to mention it.

we didn't buy the house - the house belongs to my father, and in essence it's mine (willed out to me already). it's been rented out for the past 10 years, and there were a lot of people gross people in the house, and this was how they maintained all the brand new $hit my parents put in there!!

With Fran- call an exterminator and a cleaning service, even if the cleaning service only does the kitchen and bathrooms.

Try Kaboom for the shower, nothing else skeeves me more than a moldy shower . Rent a steam cleaner for your carpets. Clorox and lysol wipes....and God change every toilet seat in the house, then drop in a clorox tablet in the tanks.
I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Some people just dont care about living in filth yuck!
