is it tacky NOT wear pantyhose on your wedding day??

i am a hot person as it is... and just the idea of adding pantyhose on top of wearing a heavy wedding dress etc etc etc makes me swoon in a bad way.

so is it tacky??

i also think... it must be hard to use the restroom without help..and then struggling with pantyhose... i can just see myself falling in the toilet.

I didn't wear stockings. I had a lot of material, which made it way too hot under my dress. We took some pics on the beach, and it was much easier to get the sand off my feet without wearing stockings. I think most of my BMs also didn't wear stockings. Stockings would also make going to the bathroom that much more difficult.
If you have a ballgown, you definitely need help with your dress when you use the bathroom. There's too much mateiral and there's no way you can hold it all up. It seems embarassing, but it's not that bad. You get over it really quickly.

Ummm...I didn't wear anything and I was married in December. And let me tell you, it's hot under that dress no matter what time of year it is. I had to go outside a few times and cool off. So no, you don't have to wear stockings, and noone's gonna know the difference, unless you're like me and you pulled your dress up to air-out your legs.

my mother thought I was crazy for not wanting to wear pantyhose.. she thought it was 'terrible' but I am NOT wearing pantyhose with open toe shoes in JULY when I will be HOT

I don't think it's tacky... will you be comfortable in your shoes without them?? that would be my only concern.. also, you could wear those half leg things.... they wouldn't be as hot...

I didn't wear pantyhose for exactly the same reason. And i second the idea of using baby powder to prevent your thighs rubbing together. My biggest problem was that the slip under the dress made my legs sweat so much every time i had tried the dress on - one of my bm's told me the baby powder trick and it worked like a charm that day!

As for the bathroom issue - i managed a few times on my own - i just gathered the dress up and held it to the side.. and then a few times my DH came in with me, and a few times my MOH. If you've ever peed in a bar with other girls around.. you'll be fine!

Remember - you do whatever you feel comfortable with.

I didn't I was married on July 17th which was hot and sticky, I wore sandles and didn't see any reason to wear stockings under my big dress.
