haha did oksana send all you guys to fix her mistake? she probably should have explained herself in the initial email. i don't like the idea of a vendor giving me the shaft. if i'm paying that much money, i want a vendor to be gracious, it doesn't matter when my wedding is.

im not stressed at all, just came to the board to see if anyone else shared in my experience with this. im calm, but thanks. i thought LIW boards were here for things like this i get that she is good at what she does, that why i contacted her.

Oksana was one of my favorite vendors and definitely someone who I will use in the future. She is such a sweetheart but she is BUSY! I don't think she was trying to give any of you the 'shaft' - if she wasn't booking 2011 yet then she obviously couldn't have given away your dates.
She is sooooooooooooo worth waiting for! I wish I could shrink her, put her in my pocket, and take her out every day so she could do my makeup always! She is super professional and I feel she's the best makeup vendor out there. Be patient, I know everyone is telling you this and you're tiring of hearing it, but you really DO have time.

I am a 2006 bride and wanted to say that Oksana did my makeup for my wedding as well as my sister who was a 2008 bride (we both posted all of the time on here) and she is UNBELIEAVABLE!!! I am sure she will start booking for 2010 soon too.
Dont worry.. it will work out and she is worth it!!!!

I totally think this thread went left. I think the point was to see if anyone else had the same experience or could shed some light on the subject. No one said they were stressed out about not booking with her. We all know she is great. The issue that we were expressing is that we found it a bit odd that she wasn't booking yet and other make up artists were. Of coarse every artist is different but it was still a bit odd.
I still plan on doing a trial with her hopefully soon.

I know when I had contacted her, as I said it was a year and a half out. I contacted her about a year or so before my wedding, and booked the trial with her. I don't think its that she was turning away business, I think its her policy to start doing trials and booking brides the year before, so she should start doing the 2011 trials soon, we just started 2010.
I would recommend not passing her up because of this, it may be a business policy, not a This wedding is to far away to book.

this post has gone completely differently than i wanted it too...everyones taking this so different then i said it, i was just wondering, if anyone else had the same experience with it, and yes taken back by someone telling me to wait, with the wedding business, i see people booking 12 and 13 already, so i was shocked to hear that 11 wasnt being booked yet, thats it.... im not bridexilla ish, im not crazy, im not angry, im not stressed out, just expressing my situation to see if anyone else had the same insight on this with vendors not booking 11 yet....

just keep in mind although u might not have ment it to go that way this post looked bad for her as a vendor because it made it sound like she was ungrateful for business and that she was turning people away... and that may hurt her for people who dont research and see this and say...oh forget her...be careful what you say cuz it could very easily get twisted especially on these boards...trust me I have been in the middle of that and its not fun...

right, but hey, i want to use her! just wondering if i was alone in this with vendors, its a surprise to hear that vendors are not booking yet, it was the first one i ran into, i think im done talking about this now, i feel like everyone jumped down my throat, when i just wnated to know if i was alone.

You actually will run into it with vendors.
Up until the middle of 2009, I still had vendors telling me 'oh your wedding is so far away, why are you looking now' and I had to remind them 2010 was only 6 months away.
Its not as uncommon as you may think, you may run into it with vendors like florists, DJs and Hair people

I guess your initial post came off wrong, thats all. I know it seems like your wedding is creeping up quickly, but believe me you have time. And like someone else said, obviously none of the dates are booked as of yet.
I'm sure she will get back to you. She's very organized and really meticulous with this stuff :)
