OK...so what has everyone done so far?

I'm curious to know what people have accomplished so far. I dont know if I'm lagging or I'm doing too much too quick.

I've booked/done:

Ceremony/Reception site: Coral House
DJ- Elegancia Ent.
DOC- booking Christine from Exquisite Affairs
Samples of almost every DIY ( invites, childrens coloring books, unity candle, memorial candle, bubbles, bubbles basket, menu)
Bought paper needed for invites

Photographer definetely next month. Going with 12th Night.

Also for photography I am pretty set on wanting Angelica Glass and she isn't booking yet. I am going to look at other photographers next month so when I can finally make an appointment with her I'll already know what else is out there.

I sent her an email asking her when she was going to start booking for 2008.

She replied, and apparently already has someone interested in my date, so she is going to let me know what comes of that..

since it was 2 weeks, ago and ive heard nothing, I am looking into other options.

If you check her blog you will see an entry that says that she booked a few appointments for 2008 jan 2-6...and then will book more for 2008 but at a later time. So probably thats how she might already have someone for your date

my save the dates are done at least.....
i know who my florist is going to be but have not booked officially

Yeah, so anyone insterested in her, should send her an email soon (she said thats the best way to get in touch with her) just to see if shes got anyone for your date... and if not meets with you.

I was a bit dissappointed because her work is soooo beautiful.. but i figured i can do the day after or something.. and i still want to meet with velvet too... and i love their work too.

well did she book with the other people? you said she said someone was interested, that doesn't mean they booked yet, you might still have a chance.

She has no internet connection right now for a week or two i forgot so maybe thats why she hasn't contacted you...You can check her blog, i forgot exactly how long

I dont remember if she told me she had the meeting coming up soon or not...

So I figure, I will meet with everyone else I wanna see, this way if she does end up booking the date then I dont have to start again...

With the run around I am getting at the church, I am trying not to get too stressed, so im kinda taking it slow..

i better get a move on before everyone i want is booked!

i contacted her previously and she said she only books 14 months in advance, but I just emailed her again to see if she was doing all of 08 now...

I have booked the church and the reception location. Thats it! lol. Next ill start looking at bands but i feel like i have so much time left, its over a year and a half away!

Well it can be one of two things, one she did meet with them during the time she said she made a few appts 2/2-2/6 and now she is waiting to see if they will hire her and for a down payment...Even if the person says they want to book her but havent given her a down payment or contract then they are not booked yet.

Either that or someone had asked about your date and she is keeping them in mind for when she books appointments in the future

I don't think she is doing all of 08 yet...She made appointments just 2 weeks ago and stated she will only see a few people during that one week. She will probably book more for 08 in a few weeks or a few months. Just keep checking her blog

i know how you feel, but unfortunately most people book far in advance and many times vendors you want will not be available for your date. If you don't have your heart set on particular vendors then its fine to wait...Otherwise trust me id rather wait

ahhh! i have only booked my church and RH...(i'm actually already confused about this b/c now we are actually looking at a possible different location) ....so i cant really book anything else till we decide for sure! this is frustrating! i am already booked at CLM (daytime)....my other choice is Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport...it's a big mansion (italian villa style) with a beautiful cortyard and gardens all around. The CH would be in the cortyard/gardens with a view of the ocean. and the Reception would be in a hige tent overlooking the water. There is a site fee, and I would have to bring in my own caterer but my family knows one so we would get a good deal. (i just dont know if they have really done weddings before, but their food is excellent.) the big problem is that the bathrooms are all the way up in the mansion so we would have to get a tram to taske people from the reception to the bathrooms. and the bathrooms are not that nice. everything else is beautiful though, and it would allow me to have an evening wedding within my budget (since we are saving on the caterer). I just dont know what to do....anyone have any advice??

i love her work too, i contacted her a couple of months ago but she told me that she is not doing any weddings up here in the winter months :( she said she will be in FL....

that sounds really beautiful, but i don't know about tramming people to the bathroom.....but there is always something wrong with anyplace, so you have to decide what is more important, the atmosphere or the bathrooms.....that sounds really wierd i guess
