I saw the post for young brides, and felt like making one for the older gals on the board.

I'll be 25 this year and 26 when I get married. FH will be 27.
Am I eligible?
Maybe we should start a middle-aged bride thread

I'm in the middle... I was just wondering, I know many brides have the 'itch' but when do you think you'll start a family?

Re: Old Brides
I was 23 when he proposed (2months before my 24th)
FH was 25 when he proposed
I will be 26 when we're married & FH will be 27, (a few months before his 28th)
We're not the oldest nor the youngest, but UI think we'll be engaged the longest

Re: Old Brides
Oh god, I definately do not have the itch. I am thinking maybe I will start when I am 30-32. Everyone talks about marriage really changing your life, but I think the life change REALLY comes with kids. FH & I live together and have been together forever, have always been faithful... I don't see how the act of getting married will really change day to day life, if that makes sense...

Re: Old Brides
I agree, we have been living together forever, have the house etc, after we get married nothing is going to change, everything is set up we dont have to move or find a new place.
I agree kids change your life, your life is not about you anymore its about the kids. Hence why i do not want kids

i agree...FH and i have lived together for almost 2 years, and have been together for 6. i think things changed when we moved in together...but i dont think a whole lot will change when we get married. We will still do the same things. he will still have guys nights, i will have girls nights...and we will still do most things together. but you're right...i think having kids will change a lot.

Re: Old Brides
I guess that makes me old too! I got engaged a month after I turned 26, and it looks like I will be 27 (and a half!) when I get married.
