I hovered the mouse over your link to see what the URL was. The last part of the link says 'holyf*ck' - so my computer at work won't let me see it! LOL

I had a neighbor who makes that house look neat. She was obsessed with thrift stores and rummage sales, and would buy and buy and buy. Her house was full of stuff, just in piles, no boxes, no order, just piles.

That is so sad. She is obviously sick.

We rent a VT house every season in Mount Snow. So about two years ago we got this huge old house, it was great. The only thing the realestate lasy told us there was an apartment downstairs and we could not go in there. The house belonged to a really old lady whose husband used to come to the hous ebefor ehe died and he would stay in the apartment and rent out the rest.. She never came up to the house ( they were really old).... Anyway of course we immediuately wanted to see what was down there. We waited a few weekends and then one Sat night we broke in. IT LOOKED LIKE THIS LADYS HOUSE!!! It was Crazy! You couldnt even walk STUFF Everywhere. I actually got so spoked out I had to go upstairs. It was really sad.

my grandmother had a problem like this. When my parents took over her house in '99 it took 3 dumpsters to clear out stuff just so they could live there. When they finally cleaned out the master bedroom it took another 20 yrd dumpster. It is an illness. My grandmother has alzheimers now, and although she can't remember us, she still hoards. It is so strange.

That's an illness. I actually know 2 people who live like that, one worse than the other. It's an actual psychological disease. Sad!

O - M - G!!!! This lady has a sickness. BIG TIME. It is a huge fire hazard!!! Beyond huge!

And half the boxes are packages from people she bought things from off ebay? And never even opened?!?!?! Yes, definte sickness here.
Obsessive compulsive maybe? I don't know but it's out of control. And the calendar wall?
Wow. I'm a bit freaked out just looking at the pics. Some of the replies say they thing it's a hoax because alot of the boxes all say Xerox but maybe dear old mom worked for Xerox - not too hard to get a ton of Xerox boxes. And no way that is a hoax. All those bottles and glass cr@p. Eek!!

But what I find funniest is that the bathroom looks SPOTLESS.

I can't believe her son is not looking into some serious help for this woman. So many points other posters brought out, like fire hazard, etc.

My FIL has the same issue, with newspapers. One whole bedroom was floor to ceiling, stack upon stack of old newspapers. He didn't want to see his $0.25 (or $.50) he spent on them go to waste. He also has OCD. When they moved, they actually packed them up and brought them to the new house

It's sad but not uncommon. If I were her family member, I'd be looking into some serious intervention...

Does anybody else have a huge urge to just go there and start cleaning? I could NOT live like that. I get mad if there's not a lot of space in a room. wow...that's crazy though.
