Okay, so yesterday I received 2 cards from people who can not make the wedding. Why did one of them include a check for $500??!!
The other person put a check in for $50 and last week someone gave us $75. I didn't know it was normal for people who declined to send money. I want to send them Thank you cards now. Also, when should we deposit the checks? Now or after the wedding. FH and I are still shocked. We planned on opening an special savings account for any money we received from the wedding, guess we have to do it a little sooner.

yea, i've heard of people sending checks if they rsvp no ... only recently tho, as some of my friends have been getting married.

Yep! I have met my minimum already and I still have about 100 invites out!
Ladies my advice is sometimes that PArents know best. Your parents old friends are more likely to be so generous. Or maybe that is how it is in my case because most of my friends are stuggling grad students!
