Ok, I'm going to Antigua!!!!!!! I'm confused is it 10 people who died in Antigua or 10 brides on their honeymoon in general. HELP! I'm freaked out now!

That is so sad...
10th person?
I am going to Check Antigua off my Honeymoon list.

Was it the 10th honeymooner, or 10th murder in general for the island? If its honeymooners they are targeting, I would stay away from there, but if that is murders on the entire island, it is not anything to be alarmed. In New York City alone last year there were around 500 people murdered. Scarey, but this stuff happens everywhere!!!!!!

I feel so terrible for these people, its so senseless.

I started reading a bunch of articles, it says that they were the first tourists to be shot there in 10 years.

Dr Mullany's murder - the night before the couple were due to return home to Swansea from their two week honeymoon - appeared to be the culmination of a unprecedented weekend crime spree. The day before, two local men were shot dead in separate incidents around the island's capital, St John, 10 miles away. Detectives were said to be investigating whether the attacks were linked.
Violent crime is on the increase in Antigua, but Dr Mullany is the first tourist to be shot on the island in a decade.
'The whole island's taken it personally,' said Insp Charles. 'We rely on tourism here.'

Last year the number of people killed on the island rose to 19, compared with an average of six or seven for previous years.
So far this year there have been ten killings — and before Dr Mullany’s death there had been three gun-related deaths in the past month alone. The homicide rate in the former British colony is now ten times that of London.
The increase has been blamed on the United States policy of repatriating criminals after they have finished their jail sentences. Critics have claimed that violent criminals with little connection to Antigua have been returned to an island with scant experience of coping with such people.
Immigrants from Jamaica and Guyana, where crime rates are far higher, have also been blamed for the growth of gun culture.

such sad news. hopefully husband survives but if he does he now has to live with the knowledge of losing his wife, the love of his life...i do not know what I would do
