OMG, I might not make my minimum...

My wedding is at the Estate at East Wind and the minimum is 150. Right now we are only at 130! The only people left to respond are mostly expected no's. I think we'll hit 140. What do I do? Can we negotiate for a lower minimum or is it too late? I can't believe I might have to pay for 10 people that aren't there....

Our site won't let us count vendors. They're taken care of under a different fee scale.

I forgot about the vendors! Even with the vendors, we still won't make it past 144ish, because we only have a DJ, MC, photo and video (florist is a friend). Am I forgetting anyone?
It's good to know that we can try to get extras (like food) thrown in. FH loves negotiating, so I'm going to leave that part up to him.

BTW, we invited 203! For some reason, a lot of FH's extended family is not attending.

Maybe inviting parents of some of the BP if they arent already invited or allowing the BP to invite 1 more guest? Any co workers? Neighbors?( or their fam)

I had the same problem date twin. We are actually 20 under our min. I called the hall and they told me to add my vendors to the headcount, okay now we are at 15 below. The Vanderbilt was nice enough to split the cost with us so they saved us a bunch of $$.

Try suggesting that.

ask them if they can make it up to you in food.
Like add another station or a martini bar to the CH. My catering hall did this for me.

You could tell them that some people never got their invitations and since you hadn't gotten their rsvp yet.... my dad did that with a few people and I just sent out some late invites.

i am in the same situation; i also thought people would be offended, but fh said to explain it as some oot relatives canceled at the last minute and we had counted them as coming so now we have spots for other people we wanted to invite but couldnt. My mom (bless her!) called a few of our neighbors and explained this to them, they were TOTALLY cool with it and I just mailed them invites. I guess its all in how you present it; i was worried about it too.

i agree with everyone - add teh vendors and any kids if you invited them
definitely try to negotiate - if its only off by 10 maybe it wont be such a big deal

Check with RH, I beleive most cases DJ, MC, Photgraphers are 1/2 priced. If you do not make your minimum then those will be charged at full price.

We did not make our minimum of 150 we have 120 and that is including our vendors. Our reception hall said that they will work with us. We will see, we have to meet with them this weekend.

You might have to add in your vendors - until your minimum is met, after your minimum is met - you can pay whatever price you were originally supposed to pay for the remaining vendors.
