OMG I nearly lost it on my mom (step)!! VENT

I know better, I know better..
DAMN IT! I know better

I just couldnt help myself.

I was innocently talking to her about how I wanted to ask my dad about the invites and labels to make sure he had everything ok.

Me: No big deal Mom, just called to check in with dad, nothing you really care about I'm sure just labels and computer stuff

Her: Well, maybe I do care.

Me: Oh? Well, that's cool. Sorry I just thought you wouldnt care about this small stuff

Her: Of course I care since I am paying for this wedding.

(Ok, I SHOULD have known better, I should chilled.. but NOoooooooo I went instant bridezilla)

Me; You're what?

Her: I'm paying for this wedding

Me: you think you're paying for MY wedding?

Her: well, I sent money

Me: you sent me 500 bucks that does NOT mean you're paying for MY wedding, send me a check for 20 grand and then you can say you're paying for now Jim and I are paying for this wedding...

I chilled out and back tracked, thanking her for 'helping out' and how I appreciate all the money she's sent (BAH)

the NERVE

Then I had to call my dad and explain myself to warn him case she flips out on him.

God I wish she wasnt coming.

It was werid..I heard the words coming out of my mouth and my mind was thinking 'No, no, no this is SOOO not worth it, who cares what she thinks, everyone knows you put a lot into this wedding, no biggie' but I swear it was like I was taken over by a monster!

I *think* I backed out of it without too much harm. My dad says she's fine and isnt acting like anything happened. But it was werid to feel so angry so quickly and still know it wasn't a big deal.

Im good now tho.. thanks

I'm sorry...I see this happening to me. I think they own half the DJ or something with $500.
Although it is nice that they are contributing at all...I have to admit...I probably would have done (or said) the same thing. It's hard to give someone such a say in your wedding when you are shelling out big bucks and they are giving a fraction of a fraction of what it costs.

OMG I would of let her have it too. I have been so stressed out lately that the littelest things set me off...and then i feel so guilty about them after. I just want to get the day over already, and go on the honeymoon..
