OMG-I Need a New Photographer-Edited

Holy $#!T

My cousin who is a fantastic photographer (not an LIW Vendor) just emailed me his quote. $4,000!!!!
And that's with the 'family discount.' This is just for pics, no video, not even parent albums. He does do amazing work and his clientele are mostly Oheka brides and even some NYC based celebrities. I feel bad that I took up any of his time but, I simply can't afford him. I don't have a clue what to do or say

I should also add that this is just for the book. It's a high end Italian made 'Graffi' book with a metal cover and 70 digital pics. I'm also getting thank you pics. No portraits are included.

I am asking all of you ladies to provide me with photo/video vendor recommendations if you don't mind. Thanks!!!

wow, just tell him the honest to god truth-- that it was more than you expected and you really appreciate his time and effort and wish you could work with him but you just can't afford it

At that price thats insane, Id tell him thanxs but no thanxs, & let him stick to the celebs..

no no no no no...That is crazy. You can find something better and don't feel bad about anything. You are shopping around and from each vendor you visit you will learn something new.

You are getting married at VYC right? I went there also but they were booked for my date. The girl I meet with she gave me some vendors but I forgot ask whoever booked your wedding if they could recommend some people.
Check Duet I hear alot of good things about them, Queens bridal center (which I booked) they are a center but the prices was reasonable and ask to meet the photographer and look at his proofs is what I did I hear mixed reviews about them, but they offered me the most for my money. Also ADA, Marco, Artistic Images (Artie is great). Get the LI Bride magazine or go to a bridal expo and you'll get great referrals.

I used them too- I was very happy with my proofs- I paid $3700 for 2 photogs and 1 assisatnt- 1 was a photo jourlnaist

no video- but everything else above

Look into Twelfth Night (photo) and Wild Rose (video)

definately look into artistic images.
