I would say with some that it takes over a year of looking and some find 'the house' immediately. I guess it all depends.
Gee, I dont think I am much of a help.

Re: OMG! Is this too fast????
Yea! It does happen really fast! You just have to go with your gut and if it's right, it will happen! Our house happened in 1 day! No regrets here! It happened so quickly it made our heads spin! If you love it go for it! If you have any major doubts, don't do it. It is hard to do, I know, but I wish you all the best!

Do you absolutely love the house? If you found this after looking for a year, do you think you would still want it?
If the answer is yes, then consider yourself lucky for finding such a jackpot so fast. Maybe its good karma?

If it works out, it was meant to be. What town is it in?

Re: OMG! Is this too fast????
Before we built this house and we bought one the reason why I think it takes a long time because two of you have to agree. It is not easy to find a house you both agree on (at least in our case) so that is why it didn't take a year...you both like it!!! Did I just make any sense?
we saw and bid on our house in one day. it can definately happen quickly! Congrats!!!!

Re: OMG! Is this too fast????
Karen, my hubby and I put our first bid on a house about a month after we started looking. That particular house didn't work out for us, but it didn't feel 'too soon' either.
House hunting can be a daunting process, but I wouldn't make any judgements based upon timing, b/c as they say - 'timing is everything in life.' If you find your home quickly, than it was just meant to be that way!

Re: OMG! Is this too fast????--A little long!
My best advice to you would be to go back and see the house again! Every time you go back you will notice things you didn't notice the first time so see if you can go and look one more time. When my DH and I first started looking we saw a house in Oyster Bay that was just darling. It was a little cape and perfect for what we needed. We took his parents back with us to check it out as well and the first thing his dad says to us when we pull up is 'did you see that house across the street?' We were so preoccupied with the house we loved that we did not notice the house across the street had about 10 beat up cars in the driveway. Maybe the guy was an auto repairer or something but it certainly did not add value to the street and definitely not what we wanted to look at every day. Now this is probably not the case with you but the point is, you should definitely go back (even if it will be your third time) and really case the house out and try and bring a third party. Open every cupboard, closet, shower curtain, etc. to really see what you are getting. Then make your decision. Also, don't just settle for something because you are tired of looking! You really should 'love' the house you are buying or at least love the potential of the house. You may not love parts of it, like the kitchen or something else, but if you think it is something you could have improved in time so that you do love it then go for it. But don't settle and never let an agent pressure you into making such a huge decision!

Re: OMG! Is this too fast????
It's going to get scary when the house-purchasing becomes this real .. it's a huge investment!
Our 'moving fast' story .. we had just hooked up with a new real estate agent on a Sunday .. saw 3 nice houses. On Tuesday, she called about a house just put on the market that day .. DH and I hesitated about going, for a few reasons, but decided to go, so the agent would keep us at the top of the list for anything new that came along .. so we went and looked .. and wanted to make a bid immediately (I knew after seeing just half of the house). We went back to the RE agent's office, and from there, she called the home owners. They accepted our bid in that phone call .. which was less than a 1/2 hour after we left the house! And the rest is history, with no regrets!

Re: OMG! Is this too fast????
Karen, it can DEFINATELY happen in the blink of an eye Hey its like some of us that dated for YEARS before getting married. and some of us dated for weeks or months So 'testing the waters' is a different story for everyone.
If this 'is it' and you feel really good about it, GO FOR IT ! IT sounds like when you compare other houses to that one (we started doing that too ) that might be IT !
Think long and hard about it, drive around the area, do you like the block, do you like the surrounding area? the town?
Picture yourself living there? Is it a nice feeling?
Follow your gut and your heart! Look at your hubby and see if you both have that LOOK that says LETS DO IT !
Good Luck and keep us posted!

Re: OMG! Is this too fast????
It can happen that fast. For us I think it took so long because we were stuck in a certain price range and the town we wanted the only houses in that range were 'fixer uppers' so it did take us a long time..
However i definatly suggest going back with someone else for a second look, like a parent or a friend, sometimes they can offer a point you would never have thought of..Like this one house we loved my father came back with us and he was like 'the driveway is to small its not usable with a car' well, after realizing that we didnt make an offer (frank wants to be able to use the garage for the cars) Another house we looked at when my father came back with us he noticed that there were electrical outlets above pipes and the construction was very bad (bad taping) we didnt even notice those things because we liked the layout so much, also the basement was filled with MOLD...
I definatly dont think its too soon.. And I was in the same situation with a house, we looked at house and i fell in LOVE with it, and I kept saying after that, oh this is not like Harrison St.. (we could not afford that house) However I will say that I lucked out and bought the same exact style house (only mine needs much more work)
Ok did I ramble enough??
Good luck!!

As you know, DH and I started to look at houses a few weeks ago. We found the area we definitely love, and then narrowed our search to that area. We've seen about 15 houses in three weeks, and we actually bid on a house today!
There was a higher offer, but we got a tip from the RE agent as to what we could offer that would likely 'lock it in.' So now we're trying to decide if we should make the final offer and buy the house!
While I'm SUPER excited, I'm a little afraid that this whole thing is happening SO fast! I heard it can take months even a year or two to find a house, and here we are making an offer in three weeks, and possibly having that offer accepted!!
What do you think??? Are we moving too fast? Am I just freaking out?
Not fast at all.. We went looking the week after we came back from our HM and then we saw another house that following Wednesday, and put a bid in that Friday and were in contract by that following MONDAY!! so it's def do-able and OK!
