soooo last night FH and i were having the biggest argument about WHOSE name goes first on many things, save the dates, wedding invites, and then family christmas cards....
he says that WBLI yesterday had ppl calling in ALLLLLLLL saying that the GUYS name is supposed to go before the girls, even on WEDDING INVITES!!!!!!!!!!!
i couldnt even deal w/it i was like 'Shuttup cuz ur wrong and this conversation is bothering me!!' lol
I think that yes, when i have a family, and we send those holiday cards w/pics it will say 'Love, Carl, Gina, Kid1, Kid2, etc'
but OMG to even try to argue w/me that the Grooms name goes first on Wedding invites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he said he wants proof....multiple websites that all say that womans name goes first LOL....i was like 'Do you KNOW who im networked w/on LIW??? i could have thousands of pages of proof in a heartbeat!!'
the only thing that REALLY doesnt help my argument, is that my friend whos getting married sent her STD to us, and she put HIS name before HERS....so he thinks that cuz she did that, im only SAYING girls go first

for all wedding related stuff my name went first. for our christmas card we put his name first.
Im pretty sure girls name goes first with wedding stuff.

i made that mistake on our STDs. i put FHs name first, but learned that the girls name goes first. for the rest of our life we will be known as Mr. & Mrs. Christopher C. my name isn't there & that's why on all the wedding stuff the girls name goes first.

For my STDs we put MY name first! The STD woman told me it was the correct way.

haha i just called him!!!
i told him the point that for the next 50something years or whatever, HIS name is going to go first....and that is why the BRIDES name goes first for the however long engagemnt...
he says 'NIIIIIICEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!' so hes content now!!
at least i have him off my back about why my names first on our STD now!! LOL

Guys are sometimes such babies. It is not enough that we are taking their last name, they freaking want it all. FH got upset with me over Xmas cards, I signed everything Love, Rosa & Edwin. Then he complains why my name is first. So I told him the next time you go to pick out the Xmas cards, wait in line for about 20 mins, write out the invites, head to the post office, and wait in line for another 20 mins...then your name can go first my love!

Girls name first on wedding stuff. I only put his name first on the STD's because he happened to be on the left side of the picture, so I put it under his name.
Tell him his name could go first AFTER the wedding.

On the wedding invite your name DEF goes first. The reasoning is cuz typically and in the past it was the brides parents hosting and 'giving their daughter away.' Therefore your name goes first.
On Christmas cards i'll put my name first. I'm the one writting them out after all. But with the picture cards eventually it'll be his name first followed by mine then the kiddies.

FH said the same thing to me.... I told him when he takes the initiative and does these things by himself, he can put his name first.... As for Christmas cards, or any cards, if it's for his family or friends, I put his name first, if its for mine, I put my name first... I figured that was fair...

Your name goes first until you are married. Tell him that you get your name first for the next few months and he gets his name first for the rest of your lives.
