OK, So I know that I am supposed to be thankful for all of my shower gifts - and I am, but I really had to vent about a few really odd ball gifts.
A crystal chip and dip set - from Fourtunoff!!! How old and how many times has that regifted (the box looks used). And mind you, I don't think we registered for any chip/dip things and got 3.
A toaster/convection oven. We didn't register for one, because we already have a toaster.
And here's the best one: A knife block without any knives in it!!!

Re: OMG Random shower gifts
I am actually registered for a knife-less knife block lol
I already have a good set of knives but it didn't come with a block so i registered for one.
I will admit ... it is a really weird gift.

Re: OMG Random shower gifts
OK, FH said not to update but....
When we were trying to make sense of the mountain of gifts, FH found the set of knives that was supposed to go with the knife block. However, the knife block is a Henckels16-slot block and the knife set is made by Sharp Select and is only 8 pieces (2 pieces aren't even knives). These were my mom's friends who set up tag sales for people...so I'm thinking they were tag sale finds. Plus, we registered for and got (back in February) a very nice set of Wusthof knives as an engagement gift.

Do you want to buy it? It's a JA Henckels Hardwood 16-slot knife block.

Love the knifeless knife block!
Regarding re-gifting: I was engaged once before and someone gave me a big, crystal bowl (we weren't registered for one). When I pulled out all of the tissue paper in order to crumple up the box, I found a Christmas card at the bottom of the box...addressed to the couple who gave me the bowl!

hahaha that's too funny! I would've mailed the card back to her with a letter saying 'thanks for the lovely bowl! I thought you might want this card back that I found under it, in case it has sentimental value..' hahah

So, I just went to Bed, Bath, and they would only give store credit - even with a gift receipt... And they would not take the knife block back because the girl said they don't sell it there.
