So, just got back from Priscilla of Boston. I went yesterday b/c my dress came in and they wanted me to try it on and make sure everything was OK (even though we won't start fittings for a while). Well yesterday I went with my Mom and my sister and it was too short. I had to custom order this dress specifically to my height with shoes on, b/c the hem is scalloped lace and can't be made longer or shorter once ordered. That cost me $250 extra dollars, on top of the fact that my dress cost almost $4k AND all my BMs are getting their dresses from POB.
I didn't want to throw a fit in front of my Mom (b/c then she'd panic) so I just pulled the dress down and acted normal in front of them. Then today I called and they told me to come back and everyone who works there, seamstress included, agreed that it was at least 1 inch too short (you can see my entire foot and part of my ankle. Meanwhile, my shoes only have 2 inch heels so it's not even like I can just get a shorter shoe. So basically, the lady who filled out my order form filled out the length incorrectly.
They are calling the factory to see what to do, b/c it is 6 months away from my wedding. They said 'no matter what we'll fix it' but until I know what they're doing, that's just not good enough!!!!!!!!!!!
UPDATE: Ok, they just called me back. She said basically she ordered the dress to be 38.5 inches from the natural waist. There is a .5 inch allowance from the factory, so the dress came in at 38 inches - 1/2 inch shorter than what she measured. AND, on top of that, 38.5 wasn't even right - it should've been 39.25. SO, there is NOTHING they can do to fix the dress that was supposed to be mine b/c of the hem. They're ordering me a brand new dress, but it won't be in until June. This is OK, b/c I wasn't going to start fittings until then anyway, BUT imagine something insane like this happens again next time? With two months to go (and in the middle of me studying for the bar) you better believe I will go Jerry McGuire kinds of ape shittt.

Thank you everyone.
They haven't gotten back to me yet, but they better call me tomorrow. I was so polite to them today, but I don't know how long the politeness can last!

OMG that's horrible!!!!! Luckily they are willing to fix the mistake they made. You have six months I'm sure if they get a rush order they can get a new dress with the correct length.
Good luck!!!!!

I know it is easier said than done, but seriously, do not worry at all - they will make it right. There is plenty of time. My dress, which was sooooo intricate with beading and also very expensive came in with about a month to the wedding and was all torn - the beads caught on the fabric during shipping. I needed a whole new skirt and they made it in about a week. The whole dress taking a year thing is bs - that is just what they want you to think! I have no doubt that POB will make it right for you, and if what they do is not satisfactory there is plenty of time to work it! I am sorry you have to deal with it though - I know how stressful it is! Good luck!
glad they r getting you a new dress!!! all the $$ u r spending they BETTER MAKE IT RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I would have totally flipped out!!! Holy effin......As long as they can still re-order the dress, you should be okay. I would be calling their asses like every two weeks to make sure that they were on top of things!! So that they couldn't have 'forgotten' or anything! What stupid stupid people - damn girl....Ur good the way you handled that!

Seriously...Don't let them charge you another penny for ANYTHING!!! They owe you big time - You do NOT need this on top of everything else going on!!! If anything, you should bill them!

don't worry it will work out - i'm going through the same thing except when i went to see my dress in January it wasn't just short - it was a completely different dress then what I ordered. The dress shop promised me they would have MY dress in by the end of February and I do believe that they will - it's just nerve wracking to think that with 45 days to go I still don't have a dress!!!
