OMG...my mom ordered her dress 4 months ago and yesterday the dress person came back and said they can not make her dress. My wedding is in 2 months and now my mom has to start her dress shopping all over again.
I am from Staten Island so any help you girls can give me as to where to start looking for dresses will be helpful.
Please please please recommend mother of the bride stores. My mom and I are going to go from store to store on Saturday hoping and praying she finds one.

Re: OMG Wedding Issue
Does it have to be a 'Mother of the Bride' store? Why not try a nice department store, like Saks or Bloomingdales? If you're in S.I., why not take a trip out to Nordstroms at Menlo Park Mall in NJ, or to Short Hills? They'll have some gorgeous dresses, and you most likely won't need big alterations on them, and will have it right away.

Re: OMG Wedding Issue
I would try Saks, Blommingdales and Lord & Taylor. Then I would go to RK Bridal (you will need to have the dress rush ordered) Good Luck!

Re: OMG Wedding Issue
My BF and her mom just went to Bergdoorf in NYC over the weekend and actually said they had an amazing selection and the prices were comparable to bridal stores, if you in the area, give them a try!
Her mom actually found one in one day there and she has been shopping for months!

Re: OMG Wedding Issue
i agree! both our parents got their dresses 'off the rack' at lord and taylor, had them altered just a little bit, and they both looked beautiful!! AND, they both found them on great sales, too! it doesn't have to be from a 'bridal' store it will all work out, i'm sure

Re: OMG Wedding Issue
Definitely try department stores. I agree with Lord and Taylor. They have beautiful dresses. If you feel like traveling to Long Island, check out Estelle's. They also have some really nice dresses.

Re: OMG Wedding Issue
estelles dressy dresses in farmingdale (on LI). You can get good MOB dresses right off the rack!
Also try RK bridal in NYC, although I'm not sure how many styles you can buy off the rack....

Re: OMG Wedding Issue
I think you're mom should have luck at 1 of these stores: Davids Bridal, Lord &Taylor, Bloomindales & even Estelles. Estelle's Dressy Dresses is in Farmingdale, no one really thinks to look there because sometimes its a hit or miss!
