OMG..It just doesn't stop..

FH's compnay got 'office spaced' his position was eliminiated

I am so sorry DId they give any kind of severance package? When is his job over?

That really stinks!!!

It's over as of today. They gave him some severance..and he did the smart thing whichw as his recruiter who got him the job is only a few blocks away so he went right there and he's going to hopefully start interviewing next week. It's just so scary...

Good luck - it is best to tap the resources quickly, especially if there are a number of folks in the same industry let go in the same geographic area. Stay ahead of the folks taking some time off to ponder ther next move! I'm sure that things will work out for the best...

been there, it stinks! he sounds like he's off to a great start vs. moping around...hope he finds something soon!

I hope this is true. His supervisor didn't want him let go and actually yelled at the boss about it because they had agreed to keep him. His supervisor said he was way to valuable to lay off, and was just as shocked as D was when it came down. The recruiter says that he'll probably get an even better job with better salary and benefits. I hope so. I just can't help but feel like there's just no certainty. And to top it off we also found out yesterday that this awful, azzhole of a neighbor from around the corner who we hate will now be living in the same house as FH, one floor above. Which means he gets control of the yard, etc. The prevous people let us use the yard whenever,w e have chairs, BBQ, decorations, I have feeling this guy is not going to be as nice
