On the heels of Theresa' s post....

Most agreed that good food can make or break a wedding.

If you were choosing between 2 reception places, both in your price range, one was very fancy food was medicore, the other being very nice but not as fancy- but had better food.

Which one would you choose? Is Decor as important to you all as well?

first of all...i don't think that food makes or breaks a wedding...at least mediocre food...

At fun weddings...I never want to sit and eat...I want to be dancing and having a good time...

although my parents went to my 2nd cousins wedding and they had VERY BAD FOOD!!

the filet was so tough that my dad (being in the middle of getting dentures...ie he had very few teeth in his mouth) CHOKED!! Heimlick and everything!! SO that put a damper on the wedding (just a little) and his cousin (the MOB) is still ****ed at him for choking!!

I think the food is a very important part. I don't think I'll remember what color the carpet was 20 years from now (a couple I work with said they didn't like the 'carpet' in one hall).. but I'll remember a bad dinner! My cousins food s*cked at her wedding- everyone was complaining and no one ate. Needless to say, we were all wasted on empty stomachs! I felt bad for her- you pay all this $$, you want to be able to enjoy your meal, and your friends/family to enjoy it too.

I do feel as though when you are paying x amount of $$$ per person you are paying for FOOD. I want my money to be well spent and have people raving about the food.

I would go with the food unless the decor is REALLY bad!
