On the topic of booking hotel rooms, do you have to
pay for accomodations for your bridal party? We're having a big bridal party and I'm not sure of the etiquette. A bunch of the BMs and GMs live in the area, but are staying at the hotel anyway. What do you think?

No, IMO I don't feel that is your responsibility

I wanted us to get ready at the hotel, so I'm paying for 2 rooms for me and my girls the night before the wedding, but they're paying for themselves the actual night of the wedding.

Not neccessary, esp if all don't stay, then its not really fair.

I'm pretty sure the etiquette books say that it is not at all a requirement. If you are financially able to do it without any hardship (sacrificing the centerpiece you really want, for example), then it's a lovely gesture but like I said, not at all required or expected.

No I haven't heard you have to do that.

I've never heard of anyone who has done that. If you have the $$$s, then it would be a really nice gesture. But don't feel obligated to do it regardless.

Definately not required to pay. My sister's friend wanted all her bm's to get ready at the hotel, so she booked a suite instead of a regular room so that they could all get dressed there together, but bm's didn't have to get rooms themselves if they didn't want to...just an idea if that's what you were looking to do yourself
