One month to go! Help me make my final decision.....?
Hi all, My honeymoon has to be paid in full tomorrow and I just wanted to get some last minute opinions. I want to know I am making the right choice. I have booked the Moon Palace in Cancun and I am really worried on how the weather is going to be. How is the weather in Late August- early Sept? How is the drinking water? Is the Moon Palace a great honeymoon spot? Is there something in particular I should request at the Moon Palace, special room, etc. I have a charter flight (the only one available) Has anyone had any experience with charter flights? What should I expect? Your insight will be much appreciated. Decisions, Decisions! Thanks in advance! Diva11236

My cousing went to cancun in august for a honeymoon and said it was HOT!!! My FH has a house on the Gulf of California and they don't even think about going there in the summer...but I hear many people do go to Cancun in the summer. With charter flights, most likely you will not get the best service and it might be late, but it shouldn't be too bad. As for the water, I was in China for a month and even the Chinese do not drink the water, but bottled water was available everywhere...I know its a different country, but this might help...try not to use icecubes or get frozen drinks and be careful brushing your teeth (I used bottled water), maybe I was overly cautious, but I had absolutely no problems. My mother, on the other hand, went to Mexico, had a visit from Montezuma, missed the bullfight - which she was glad about, but they had to go home early. Other than my mom, I haven't heard of anybody else getting it. Pack some Immodium and Pepto tablets.

I went to Acapulco 3 years ago in August. It was very hot, but not intolerable, where you couldn't do anything. So many of the activities were in the water anyway! :) As for getting sick, I'm not going to lie to you. I went with 8 people, 3 of us wound up getting a 24 hour thing (I was one of them unfortunately). It was the exact same illness, and knocked each of us out for a full day and night (each one of us on different days). I don't think it was Montezuma - but something similar - all stomach and the like. I was EXTREMELY careful with the water (everyone made fun of me) - never had ice, vegetables, brushed my teeth with bottled, etc. But you swim in the water and it is inevitable that you swallow some of it. But Mexico is a lot of fun, and was totally worth my short illness! and I agree with yabbobay - BRING IMMODIUM. It really helped me...don't worry and have a great time!

My good friend stayed at the Moon Palace, and had an EXCELLENT time. Also heard that is was the best out of all the palaces in Cancun. Not sure about weather, but I would be careful ordering mixed drinks outside the hotel, because the ice in the drinks contains their water. But inside the hotel, the use filtered water for their ice. Lots of Luck!!

I went to Cancun in late August and it was by far the most amazing trip of my life. The beaches were beautiful and the ocean was breathtaking. It was hot, but definitely not intolerable. Especially considering you are surrounded by beautiful water everywhere. One out of the three of us got sick for one day -- nothing too bad. Believe me, it was definitely worth it. Have a fabulous time.Welcome New Vendors
