One more time... if you don't have a personal relationship with your priest...

are you inviting him to the reception?

I feel guilty that I'm not!

Should I? I really do like my priest!!

Not sure, but I think you should. He is part of the reason you are having this grand party. I would.

Then invite him! We're inviting ours, but he's a friend of the family. Some priests that are invited usually don't come.

Our priest is very friendly, but we're not close to him and we didn't invite him to the reception.

i agree. especially since you mentioned that you really like him - that should be even more reason for you to extend an invite.

I don't have a personal relationship with him...but I am sending him a hand written note inviting him to the reception...chances are he won't come if he doesn't know you but the proper thing is to invite him

We didn't have a personal relationship with him but I thought it would be a nice gesture to extend an invitation for him to stay for our CH and reception. He declined the invitation but responded that the appreciated the thought.

If you really like him and you're feeling guilty send him an invitation!!

Neither of us really know the priest that is marrying us, but we are still planning on inviting him to the reception. From what I have heard they decline most of the time anyway (if you are worried about numbers).

We are close with ours but we also want him there to do a blessing.
