we had 150 people and were quite happy with our one photographer! I don't think it is a necessary expense at all..JMO

I didn't think it was necessary but my photographer 'threw it in' and convinced me that he would be able to catch my day so much better and with so many more unique photos that I'm into. He's amazing!

we are having 150-200 ppl and we are having 2. My FH will be around the corner from each other too but my photographer is taking pics of him at the church he isn't going to the house where he is UNLESS there is time and I want him to.

Re: one photographyer or two?
One of the things I didn't think was necessary was having two photographers...however in restrospect, if you can afford it, it's a great idea. You will get twice as many shots and also get the pics of your FH getting ready, not just you and your BP. Some people hire a photojournalistic photog and a traditional photog to make sure they get both kinds of pics. The bottom line is there's nothing wrong with having one, but two is even better

Re: one photographyer or two?
im using patken and they only come with one photographer...but from their quality of photos i think they doo a great job with just one photographer...so id look at the work ur photo company does and see the difference between one or two

Re: one photographyer or two?
I am having 1 photog because our wedding is smaller (under 75 people). When I met with them, they said the number of photogs depends on size of wedding. What they told me is all I really know.

Re: one photographyer or two?
When FH and i were searching photographers my one stipulation was I wanted 2 but when we went to see Patken and we saw the work with just one, we decided to go with it. As the day gets closer and our budget allows it we might hire a second one. But as of right now we are just using one

I would definitely have 2 - you can get double the amount of pictures and different perspectives and different shots.

Re: one photographyer or two?
We have only 100 but we are getting two photographers, but not for the whole day, only for 6 hrs, which is getting ready, all the portraits, and the ceremony. You get much more photos. He said they work off eachother. For example if the main photographer is taking a big wide shot of everyone in the BP, the other will be taking more narrow shots. Also while one is taking a few pics of the couple, the other can go and take pics of the set up tables and things. Does the photographer bring an assistant? Sometimes they're pretty good and then you wouldn't really need another photographer.

Re: one photographyer or two?
we're doing both because we want to have different angles of the same shot (one walking down the aisle looking at our faces, and one looking at our backs for example)...also when youre getting ready you want the photographer getting all the shots of u getting ready, etc. you don't want it split...just my opinion though!

I think you are supposed to do 1 photog per 100 guests from what i have heard.

Re: one photographyer or two?
i booked two...IMO you cant have too many pictures! I met with photographers that work alone and they do manage to capture it all, i just think its harder for them and more rushed on everyone. If i did end up with one, i would def make a must shoot list....to me in the end it was worth the extra money for 2. My wedding will be about 200 people so we will hopefully have shots of everyone. Plus, FH and I can both have pics taken while getting ready and the main selling point for me was that one photographer will work with my family for family shots, and the other with FHs family until we of course combine. My mom is one of 6 so all my aunts and uncles want pictures...this way FH and I can go off with one photographer, and our families can work with the other without taking our time away from the photographer.
