Re: One thing that made you remember ?
I will always remember this one particular wedding where they had trumpeteers (sp) standing on columns as you walked up to the entrance to the reception. It was amazing. Also, this same wedding had a very famous Cuban band play the 2nd half of the reception (Her DH's family is 100% Cuban) and the music was ABLOUTELY AMAZING!!! It was so good that even the staff were dancing and twirling each other around in the corners.....
I will never forget that wedding....

Re: One thing that made you remember ?
A great DJ and a good cocktail hour always makes for a great wedding for me. When everyone - including old people and kids - are all dancing together through the whole thing.
The worst wedding I ever went to was in Texas, and there was this whole table of uptight wives in from Chicago who wouldn't eat, wouldn't drink, wouldn't dance....I think they had an issue with the bride and had been dragged to the wedding by their husbands, who were friends with the groom? They were this huge total snotty clique that I guess didn't think dancing was cool. God forbid they wrinkle their clothes or something. Anyway, this bride is one of my closest friends and she and I were dancing on the dance floor alone and she kept saying 'Why isn't anyone dancing at my wedding? I don't understand why no one is dancing.' After repeated requests by the DJ to get up and dance. So Protective Rachel (me), being drunk and mad as hell went over to them and said 'If you don't have the common decency to enjoy the courtesy and grace being shown to you by this couple in inviting you to their wedding, you might as well leave. No one will miss any of you. Just go.' Two if them got up and danced, being properly chagrined, three left and one told me to 'pi$$ off'.
I now have a reputation as being 'that b**tch' who told everyone off at Cindi's wedding.
