Online Wedding Albums?

Online Wedding Albums?

I was wondering whether some you you ladies were planning on designing your own wedding albums online via album manufacturers online?

The difference in price for albums with our photographer is $1600! I think that that's a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$! I was thinking about getting our prints(w/ right to them) and basically going around the photographer and doing our albums ourselves.

Does anyone know any websites that allow for you to create your own flush mount albums, etc???

I did mine on Ritzpix.com and it came out amazing.

I have a friend who made her own albums and prints on Shutterfly.com and saved a lot of money.
As long as you have the patience to go through all of the pictures, why not!
Good luck! :o)

i would love to do that because our parent albums are an extra $200 a piece and we can not afford that right now!! Do you have to ask pemission from the photog to do this?

You definitely need permission because the photos are their copyrighted images. It's something you should negotiate into the contract. You need to get your photos on DVD (so they are high resolution) so you can use them to create your own album. Wolf Camera (which uses ritzpix.com) asks for confirmation from the photographer as well (I showed them the letter I had from our photographer saying we could use the DVDs to make our own prints and albums).

Otherwise your photographer could sue the printers and you for copyright infringement.

As a side note, I used ritzpix.com to make my albums because it's the only website I found where you could put a photo in the background as well as layer them on top scrapbook/magazine style.

It depends on what your contract is with your photographer. Our contract with photographer gives us the right to the photos to do what we like with them.

You should find out if you are given the rights to the photos because if not you won't be able to make copies yourself...
