Re: ooooooooommmmmmmmgggggggggg! (my mice problem)

Gross! yeah we had mice when the peope acorss the street were gutting their house! It was SO gross, so i understand. (is anyne neabrby doing construction? once the construction's over, there probably won't be a problem anymore) I just could never kill an animal. I was just saying there has to be a better way than killing them , or some way of killing them that's more humane. But I totally understand just wanting to end the problem. My cat caught and killed one of the mice, and then he caught the other one and we got it from him and let it go...he went bakc undergorund I guess cause we never saw him again, thank god.

I just read your post about your mice problem. I'll top your story..LOL...

When my son and I first moved upstate, in the country, we we're living in a single wide trailer TEMPORARLY. This trailer was in beautiful condition, clean, new carpets, basicly remodeled. One morning, I got up to get in the shower and ready for work and when I walked into the bathroom, I seen my sons clothes on the floor. I picked them up and then dropped them back down saying 'he's old enough to pick up after himself'. I took my shower, slipped on my bathrobe and left the bathroom. Later, I go back into the bathroom to do my hair and a tiny mouse comes running out from under the his clothing and into a hole in the wall. I let out a scream 'theres a mouse in the bathroom' and FLEW down the hall. My feet never hit the floor. LOL. I jumped on the sofa, and while still screaming my son comes running out of his room 'thats some hell of a wake up call mom'. He went into the bathroom and ofcourse it was gone. Now, my husband was still living on Long Island, during the sale of our home, I called him, hysterically crying and he said 'hon, what am I supposed to do 250 miles away from you?' He was also hysterically laughing at me.

I was so freaked out that I told my son to get me all my clothes that were in my bedroom and for him to stay in his room while I got dressed, put on my makeup, did my hair all ON TOP OF THE SOFA!. I refused to get off. I jumped off the sofa, and ran out the house.

On my way to work, I stopped at K-Mart and bought $30 worth of mouse trappings. A friend of ours came over that night and set the traps and told me to bring back the sticking traps because when they get caught, they'll scream....YIKES!

The next morning, while I was already out in the car, my son found 4 dead in traps.

To end this long story, the trailer was infested with them because there were tons of holes that we did not see/find while doing a top to bottom search before we rented. That night I called the landlord and her remark was 'welcome to the country'. Oh my God, are you kidding me'?

My husband came up the following weekend and boarded up and took care of all the damn holes. I had to keep food, clothing, dishes, pots and just about everything in sealed rubbermaid totes. My son and I started keeping track, he was finding 3-4 dead, a DAY for the first 2 weeks.

It was so aweful. I informed the landlord that if the mice problem wasn't finalized, she would be finding them on her front porch.

At the end of my 8 months living there, I was one packed up and ready to get the hell out mama..lol..
Its funny now, but it was just plain aweful that I just wanted to

Awww... I think they are cute! Don't get me wrong, I do not want them in my home, but they are still pretty cute.

Heres another story that's REALLY funny!

After moving out of the 'mouse house' I bought a brand new single wide trailer. So being brand new, I had not a fear of tiny visitors.

One night, I went with a friend of mine to another friends house. Before we left she said to me, 'do you want to put the left over dinner in the refrig?' I told her no, it was to hot to put away, so I left it covered on the stove.

I opened the door, she walked in first and went into the kitchen and while I was walking in she said 'shhhh and pointed to the stove'. There sat a mouse! Again, I let out a scream, and flew over the sofa and again, freaking out. She stood in the kitchen laughing her a$$ off. I started to cry and screamed at her that it was funny to get rid of it. She picked it up and said, ITS A CATS TOY!!!!!

Can you tell that I have a phobia with these critters? Needles to say, I have a cat!
