OOT bag/basket items

I would like to start making the OOT bags but I'm not sure exactly what to put in them. Can you give me some ideas as to what goes in them. Maybe even post some pics. Thanks alot.

Re: OOT bag/basket items

I know... I've been bothering vendors of course!!!

I've only gotten one out of town basket at a wedding. It was cute because it went with the theme - it was a beach wedding, SO she put it in a little pail with a shovel.

Maybe little brochures about what to do out in Mt. Sinai.

I think a wedding itinerary or newsletter may be good. a Map maybe, water. I'd say little stuff from the priceclub. Don't go too crazy... I just went to a wedding and was surprised at how much people do not notice the details (which killed me because I'm driving myself CRAZY!)

Water, cheese and crackers (those individual bag things), gum/ fresh mints, potatoe chips/ pretzels, 'Clark bar' (my last name) and 'Goldfish' (for part of FH last name) and anything else you can think of that you enjoy eating after drinking

I went to a wedding where they gave :

Water bottles
Gum
Advil
Mints
Chips
Candy

Mostly stuff from Costco or Sams club.

I am just not sure what to put all of the stuff IN. I want something creative in with our 'fall season' theme, but I dont know what.

The one time I got an OOT bag it had

(keep in mind it was a philly wedding)

bottled water
tissues
tastycake
philly eagles potato chips
philly coloring book and crayons
philly destination guide
A little newsletter form the B&G thaking everyone for coming, reminding about pre- and post wedding events, recommending sights to see, and telling a little fo the significane of some places to the B&G.

So if you got engaged at the montauk lighthouse, put that in, etc

Since you're a 2006 bride I suggest waiting untila fter thanksiving this year, see whats on 75% off clearance at CBS or target, often thy have little fall themed baskets. I have one I put the amil in in the fall, it has little leaves on it. It was about $5 full price, but if they have anough at 75% off it could really be affordable

Did any of you consider putting in little toiletry items, like mini shampoo and soap? Or is the OOT bag more like snack items and info on sightseeing? I know I never like hotel soap and shampoo...would it be good to put in some nicer stuff for them?

Soap and shampoo is a nice idea. You might add a small bottle of lotion.

You could make personalized bottles of water to add to the basket.

Black and white cookies...those are cakey cookies with frosting that is vanilla on one half and chocolate on the other? You know what we call them in MA where I'm originally from? Half moon cookies! I love them!! Its funny how different places have different names for things.

MrsStefan,

I just got apple bags with our names printed on them with leaves, they are so nice, that might be an idea!

The only reason I wouldn't suggest toiletries is because a lot of hotels already supply that in the room.

I put a bunch of stuff, including (but not limited to):

2 bottles of water
2 cans of cola (one diet, one regular)
2 cans of ice tea
tylenol/advil packets
assortments of teas and instant coffees
cookies
chips
chocolates
$5 GC to starbucks
gum
tic-tacs
wet-wipes

and the Day-of Schedule and the Day-After-Brunch invite

I went to a wedding in Maine and they put in lobster bibs, and a list of activities in the area along with some snacks and water and tylenol. It was really cute.
