I am planning from OOT. I need to book my florist but I don't think I will be able to get back to NY in the next few months. Did anyone plan from OOT? who do you recommend? TIA!

I feel your pain, i'm planning from OOT too, it definitely makes it more difficult ...i haven't started checking into flowers yet, but if i hear of someone good, i'll let you know....in the meantime, there are lots of girls on here who could give you specifics on good places to try, i'm sure if you called up a few florists to explain your situation to them, they could maybe talk with you on the phone and email you pics of possible centerpieces, bouquets, etc. to at least get the ball rolling until you can get home

I am in the same boat, planning from out of town. Some of it is fine but things like florist and booking a tasting are proving to be very difficult!
For me, I called around and got price quotes, I picked the one in the middle who, when I was on the phone with her I felt like I clicked.
I also checked the better business bureau to make sure there weren't complaints against them and of course, searched through LIW to make sure there were good reviews.
It is definitely difficult.

this is exactally why i decided to do all my own flowers planning from OOT def s ucks but it can be done. I figure doing them myself will 1. save a boat load of $$$ 2. give me something to do rather than freaking out the day or 2 before.

Re: OOT Brides-flowers
I'm planning from OOC - out of country... from over the Atlantic ocean... it's definitely causing anxiety.
I am going to look into several different florists - sorry I'm not much help, but I haven't started yet.
I am planning to do my non-flower centerpieces, candles, vases, decorations, etc myself and outsource only the flower decorations. I plan to order only 1 flower centerpiece for each table, my bouquet, flower petals for throwing after the ceremony, and sparse flower decorations for the room. That's about it.
I might start with calling Keyth from Lovin' Oven since I've heard a lot of raves.

Re: OOT Brides-flowers
Thanks for the suggestions. I don't want to spend a fortune, but I want the flowers to be nice, nothing too elaborate.
