Opinion on colors.

I need ideas or opinions. I'm trying to pick a color (theme). My favor color is Yellow. What I call sunburst yellow (the color of the trees in the fall) So my FI said lets do that. My MOH said no way would she wear anything in that color. (I had to wear the ugliest dress for her wedding and I didn't complain)But I'm trying to make her happy. So I went with gold. I'm not to happy with gold. What do you guys think if I put her in gold and the other girls in a yellow??? or should I put them all in gold and just have the decor in yellow?? So many choices so many decisions its driving me crazy. Thanks for all your help.

Opinion on colors.

Gold is nice; there are a lot of colors that go great with yellow, but for the bright yellow you`re talking about, gold might be a good bet. Maybe burgundy or forest green if you`re going with a fall theme? let us know what you decide!

Opinion on colors.

I had a friend who had a wedding and did everything in buttercup. The dresses were such a pretty shade of yellow and were not ugly or to loud at all. It's your wedding. Your friend should just follow your lead. It can be a pain having a very opinonated Brides Maid/MOH.

Opinion on colors.

The buttercup yellow is about the same color that we wore for my sister's wedding. It looked great and the pictures came out really nice. I don`t think yellow and gold should be mixed, but it is hard to say without seeing the exact colors. It is nice that you want to make your MOH happy, but you can`t please everyone. Ultimately go with what you like. Maybe a less loud yellow is the way to go.

Opinion on colors.

My opinion: I think gold will go with any other color EXCEPT yellow. I don't know I think they are just too closely related, but not really. Ya' know. Is it in the Fall? I say put your girls in yellow and MOH in Orange or Brown. She should actually wear what ever it is that you'd like her to

Opinion on colors.

Yellow/Gold is hard color for many people to wear. How about picking a contrasting color for the dresses and using your yellow in flowers, favors, linnens etc. I love blues and yellows. The Yellow will really POP against Navy or Cornflower.

Opinion on colors.

I say do whatever color you want and what will make YOU happy. I'll tell you, from my experience and from what I read on here, the bridal party participants, MOH included, are all sour pusses. I don't know where they get off telling the bride what they will and won't wear, but it's wrong. Make yourself happy. If she doesn't want to wear it then she can come as a regular guest. You'll be sorry afterwards if you don't do what you want.

you guys are the best!!

Let me just say that I was not going to ask them to wear that bright yellow. i know it doesn't look on everybody but I was thinking of a pastel yellow. But you guys gave me the idea of a contrasting color. The thing is that the invitations, the favors and flowers are going to have yellow on a white back ground. Sort of the daisy look but whit out the daisy. How am I going to bring in another color and What color??? This is killing me... Once again thank you for all the imput.

NO WAY....Don`t worry... I`m compulsive about everything. When it was time to plan the wedding I went full force and now I`m pretty much done, way to soon. The only thing that I can`t seem to nail down is the color and as you can tell is driving me nuts. Don`t worry you still have So much time enjoy the sumer but once September comes around get ready for big time plannig. Good luck.

Quinn

My wedding is Nov of 02 and I have my location and a band. Now we are working on the photographer. I am little compulsive, but when we were looking at bands, I didn`t have a problem, but there were people booking over a year and a half away. Don`t stress too much, but I wouldn`t wait too long to choose a band. If need suggestions, I have listened to them all, just let me know.

Ana, My MOH is wearing gold and my BMs are wearing toffee. What you should do is look at the colors next to each other and if you like them then go for it. Ohh and by the way...your MOH should wear what ever you want her too!! GOod Luck Lisa

Lauren

thanks so much! i have even thought about looking for bands yet. if you do have some suggestions, that would be great. we don`t want a traditional wedding band. we are interested in a fun, energetic somewhat young (late 20`s - early 30`s) band. your advise is appreciated!

Quinn--Band Suggestions

Here are some bands that you can look into. I understand how you feel about not wanting a traditional wedding band and that is why we stayed away from Hank Lane and Steven Scott. We ended up taking Renegade, they are with LI Paramount. They played at my FI's brother's wedding in August and they were fantastic. However, we didn't make the decision to take them until we did our own research. Here are some bands that I really liked: Faze 4 (the original, and the next faze)and NYC Swing. If you want something really different, Cafe Wha (it's by NYU) has an incredible band that also does weddings. Many bands have showcases at least once a month. It is a good way to hear the bands and get ideas for songs--plus I had fun at them. If you do a search--there have been many posts on these bands. Good luck and keep us updated!

My favorite color is yellow too!!

I had the same thought when i first got engaged. I have seen some dresses that are pretty in yellow. Again- you have to do what you want to do. You might want to take your bridesmaids coloring into consideration. If your bridesmaids are very pale they might looked washed out. Just a thought. I ended up getting black dresses but their flowers are going to be yellow roses- tight round plain yellow roses (martha stewart like). Then I got the 'we are gonna look like bumblebee' complaint. It really comes down to what you want. I got all of my centerpieces yellow roses too. If you find a yellow dress you like- I say go for it- I just couldn't find one. No one will be completely happy- Remember it's your day!

Opinion on colors.

Did you see Lara Spencer`s wedding in the Martha Stewart weddings? She used pale yellow for the little girls and separates on the adults with yellow on the skirt. That could be a nice compromise. Also, you should check out how she incorporated yellow into the flowers (yellow hydrangeas), favors (lemonade), etc. Good luck.
