opinions needed on flowerless wedding!

Original post by ngentile

So I am trying to keep wedding costs somewhat reasonable and have found a few budget friendly options when it comes to wedding decor. Since I am a librarian and FH is a big reader, we are doing kind of a 'book' theme wedding. So here are my ideas on some things, I'd really welcome your thoughts...

For centerpieces, I have always loved the branches and I found a website where you can order 15 of them already in the vases. I thought I could hang this book garland from them and surround them with the candles. They could even be resting on a vintage book.

For flowers: My FH and I are only having one person on each side so we don't have a huge bridal party and I don't want to waste a ton of money on flowers. I really love these book page flower bouquets and you can either DIY or find them pretty reasonably priced on etsy. They even have bouts and corsages. I think they are unique and will last forever but some family members are telling me they are tacky, what do you ladies think?

Thanks for the advice. I am going to attach the images below (hope it works!)

lol, I wish. I love the big lanterns but don't feel like spending a lot of money on each centerpiece. hmm, the hunt continues!

Florists I've talked to rent lanterns for around $20 so check out florists or other rental companies.

If you did something like this you could just add candles and you might not need anything else. Depends on the look you want.

cute, I've seen a lot of things with books like that, they are just hard to find. I actually found a seller on etsy that sells books by like color. I was thinking I could have each of the branch/vase contraption resting on a book or two

I love the branches and think its a cool idea. I am thinking of doing this for my winter wedding, but using white branches with silver/while glitter on them for a winter wonderland feel =)

I love lanterns but I haven't been able to find a place to buy a lot of them and keep it affordable. I found the branches at a great price here http://www.bloomsandbranches.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=BBMPPN1 so that is why I went with branches. I love the branches too and I have plenty of time, I will keep my eyes open for lanterns, has anyone else seen them?

I saw some in Ikea awhile ago!! Def worth a look
