ok so I got in a HUGE fight with my FH two days ago over this. Please tell me if I am crazy. I really want to know what you think.
My FH and I don't have any sisters, and I don't really have any close girl friends (only girls that are dating our guys friends, etc.)
I am planning on having my best friend growing up be my MOH (she will be 23 on the wedding day), my cousin (she will be 13 on the wedding day--she looks much younger but may not be then?), and my FH's cousin (she will be 15 on wedding day and has already hit puberity, is about my height, etc.)
FH think I will make a fool of myself by only having one bridesmaid that is my age.
On his side we will have his best friend (will be 24), my brother (will be 26 ), his brother (will be 22), and possible one other guy friend (who will be 24)
Is he right? I really didn't want to ask girls that I am not that close to to be in our wedding.

i say do what you want! they can be more like jr bridesmaids but really who cares.
I'm only having a MOH bc I'm not dealing w that drama.
Don't ask people you're not close with. You'll regret it.

I think you should keep those girls (if you really want them to be in the wedding) as jr. bridesmaids.
have one moh and that's it...nothing wrong with that.
i wouldn't ask girls just to ask them if it was me.

I think you should only ask people youre close with as well. I'm in a similar situation...Neither FH and I have any sisters, and I'm not super close with a ton of girls. I'm having a small bridal party...my bff from 2nf grade as MOH, a cousin, and a close friend from college as bridesmaids. You will not make a fool of yourself by doing it your way. And I agree, call the 13 year old a junior bridesmaid if youd like. Plus you can still party with the not so close girl friends at your shower, bachlorette party, etc. right? IMO, you dont want to look back at your photos and hardly remember the girls that were in your bridal party (especially if theyre no longer dating your guy friends)

Who cares how old they are? If they mean enough to you that you want them to stand up there with you, ask them to be in the BP.

You should absolutely 100% have whomever you want in your BP, regardless of age. As Amy said, they can be more like jr. BMs. It makes no sense to me that you should be forced to put people you are not necessarily close to in your BP just to make it look even or so-called 'appropriate'

absolutely nothing wrong with this at all. I say stick with the people who really want to be in your bp. Don't ask someone just for the heck of it.

I say keep it the way it is. Who cares about age! If you choose your wedding party based on age I think you may regret it.

Sounds fine to me! And it's not like his bridal party is big, it's relatively small. And you are filling it up with people who are meaningful to you. It doesn't matter if they are a lot younger, who cares.
