Opinions of Mario's in Setauket....

Sorry to say, that I am not crazy about the food there. (I am very finicky when it comes to Italian cooking however, coming fom an Italian family and being so used to my Mother's delicious Italian home cooking) I guess I might not be the best person to count on for an opinion

Curious because I only ate there once and it was good and I'm considering my Rehearsal dinner there but I've been cautioned. I just wanted to know what others thought.

My other thought was...You can never win...someone will always have a negative.

Hi! I got your FM, but I'll reply here. We've been there for 2 families parties, 14 - 18 people and to dinner there for an anniversary. I wasn't crazy about the service the first time we went alone, but was willing to give it another chance for FBIL's b'day. I can't even begin to tell you how many things went wrong....drinks made incorrectly, FFIL got his drink in a glass that was cracked, screwed up appetizers, took more than an hour to get main course at which time the waitress told FMIL that they 'ran out' of what she ordered and it took another 1/2 hour to get her dinner out....a true comedy of errors and to make up for it they gave us a $25 gift certificate. We had a similiar experience with another dinner we went to their. You're right though, everyone will have something negative to say about each place, so it's your decision.

I love that restaurant! The food is really good!

Mario's is a good restaurant but it is the kind of restaurant that you go with either your honey or another couple. I've been there a couple of times and the food was good. I think it depends what you order. Also, it might be different if you have a large party so whenever choosing a restaurant, one must take that into consideration.

Both DH and myself are Italian....and we LOVE Mario's!! We go about once a month
