Opinions on MOB dress please!

SO, here is the problem...I am in a bit of a rush...just need opinions

My mom feels her dress is not dressy enough for the mother of the bride.

This is her dress(hers is in chocolate brown) she will be wearing gold shoes, gold jewelry, gold purse...

I think its fine, but she thinks it is not dressy enough...

Re: Opinions on MOB dress please!

I think it's fine, but if she's not comfortable, maybe she could get an evening gown for the reception and wear the original dress for the ceremony. I'm assuming that the original dress has already been ordered and can't be cancelled.

I think it's perfect, remember accessories have the ability to dress anything up, with the right shoes, necklace, earrings and bracelet plus her hair and makeup done...she will look smashing

Re: Opinions on MOB dress please!

I think I am going to agree with you mother it looks more destination wedding kind of dress. David Bridal has some nice MOB gowns that are light in material since you are having a july wedding

Re: Opinions on MOB dress please!

It's a very pretty dress. With that being said, though, she might be more comfortable in a long dress. Do you think guests will be in evening gowns? Traditionally the MOB dress is one notch above everyone else's. What time of day is your wedding?

I totally agree! I know MOBs typically wear floor length gowns but it's all about comfort! Back in the day BMs only wore floor length gowns too and now the dresses are getting shorter and shorter.. Times are a' changing!!!! If she likes the dress I say go for it!

Re: Opinions on MOB dress please!

It may just be me but I don't believe that the MOB needs to be in a gown. My mom is not comfortable wearing that kind of stuff and I never envisioned her in anything like that so she bought a very pretty dress that she can wear again. I think that your mom's dress is perfect!
