Re: Opinion's on Thursday night weddings????
I think it's not bad and I'd go if it was nearby (unless it's family or someone really close) and as long as it didn't start too early.

Re: Opinion's on Thursday night weddings????
I attended a Thursday wedding last summer. They had the ceremony earlier in the day so I was only able to attend the reception. The main difference I noticed was that the place pretty much cleared out after the cake cutting.

I would go to any real close friend's wedding on any day.

Re: Opinion's on Thursday night weddings????
I think the only drawback is that people can't make either parts or all of it (b/c of work) and that they may have to leave early if they have work the next day.
I work in NYC and get home @ 7:30, so the earliest I could first get to a weeknight wedding would be like 8:30-9 (by the time I get ready and drive myself there).
I think it's a great money saver, but I think you would have a bigger turn out on a weekend. Weeknights can also be tough if people have to get babysitters for their kids b/c chances are the babysitter is a high school kid and has school the next day.

Re: Opinion's on Thursday night weddings????
I'd prefer a sunday
Went to a wedding on Thurs evening out east, so I had to take a half day on thursday so I can get ready and make it on time and then take off on Friday.
With Sunday, you can start and end earlier so no one needs to take off from work if its close enough

I second Sunday! Perhaps you can even do like a 4pm ceremony and then like a 6pm reception? That way your affair ends @ 10pm which isn't too late if guests have to work the next day.

That's actually pretty perfect...

I think most people would say - it's your wedding, the people that want to be there will be there but from a guest and BP perspective, I think Sunday is a better day.

If you must do a thursday, try and do it on a thursday before people have off on Friday (Good Friday, before memorial day). Honestly, as a guest, it would suck big time. But, if it were for a BFF, I'd be there.

This is so true. People who want to attend your wedding will be there no matter what, but it would probably be easier for guests to have it on a Sunday. However, a close friend of mine had their wedding on Thursday. They invited 250 and had about 190 people there.

I think you can do anything you want and people that want to be there will. I don't have a normal schedule like most people so I wouldn't have to take days off. Just request them off. But people may like Sunday weddings than a thursday.

I agree, a couple girls on here are getting married on a Tuesday, July 3rd, and most everyone has off the next day, so its basically like a friday.
