opinions please

Kind of long, but I'll try to keep it short.

For mother's day, I bought my mom and FMIL the same thing-a pearl bracelet and I planned on writing in the cards something like 'something special for both of my moms, you can wear it on at the wedding to symbolize our unity bla bla bla...'. I'm getting both bracelets restrung and a new clasp (because the one on there is kind of cheap). They're at the jeweler now and won't be ready until Monday or Tuesday. FMIL lives in Myrtle Beach, and I'm afraid I wont be able to get them in the mail to her in time for mother's day.

Her birthday is June 2 (3 weeks after mother's day), and she's coming up to LI the week before memorial day. I think I might wait to give it to her in person and have it be a mothers day/bday gift.

1. Do you think the joint gift is a good idea?
2. What should I write in her Mother's Day card, indicating she wont have a present to open for another week?

I think doing joint present is very nice. You can just explain the situation to her about not getting the present to her in time. She will understand.

I think it's a great idea, just let her know it's going to be a little late - I don't think that's a big deal.

i agree too!! i think it's a really cute idea, and that she won't mind that it will be late. just send her the card for mothers day letting her know the gift will follow, that way she knows you didnt forget her!
