We definitely need transportation for us and our guests from the hotel to the RH and vice versa. It REALLY chaps my asss to spend like $1000 on a couple of round trips in a van...just annoys me to no end and I'd like to use the money elsewhere.
A friend of mine who is a DOC (Chrissi from Fairy Tale Events...shout out!) told me that one of her brides was able to get BRAND NEW, air conditioned school buses to shuttle people back and forth for a really great deal (I think I remember she said it was around $400 or something).
As a guest, would you be offended if you were transported to/from the hotel by school bus??? Keep in mind that they are new, not like all smelly and nasty from pukey little children.
I really like the idea, and I also like the idea of pictures in the school bus and stuff...but I'm not sure if people would be annoyed by it.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!

My ex's sister did that at her wedding and we had a blast going home in it!! It brought up so many memories of being on a bus...and being drunk, it was even more fun lol. I totally wouldn't worry about it....after all, you don't have to provide your guests for transportation to and from the reception, so they should be happy if you provide them with any at all! I say go for it!

Im actually trying to find an affordable coach bus for my wedding too but Im sorry i would have to say no to the school bus idea as well

Sorry to crash....For my wedding, my church and RH were far apart so we hired coach buses to take our guests to and from and they were really inexpensive!!! We used the company Alert and they were fantastic. Just to give you another option. A benefit of the coach buses was the bathrooms on board.

ive hired coach buses for senior (citizen) trips and i find it kinda hard to beleive that you cant find a coach bus for a less than that! however as long as you dont have any mobility impaired people (read: my seniors!) i think its a cute idea!

I think it's absolutely fine and I was thinking about doing this myself before I found out my hotel provided buses. I see NOTHING wrong with it - you're being nice enough to provide transportation which you don't have to do. If your guests have a problem with it they can drive themselves.

honestly, if its a yellow school bus (or a green or blue, or whateva, like a real school bus), i would not want to ride in it as a guest nor would i personally have that for my guests.
i think its totally different if the wedding was at in a park, or the backyard or maybe even the beach because being transported in a school bus is something that goes with the informaility of the wedding but the formality of your wedding indicates that guests would be transported if need be, not on a school bus. sorry but that jmho.

providing a shuttle is a courtesy to ur guests, it's not a requirement....
i say there's nothing wrong with using a school bus!
if i were a guest i would just be happy that i didn't have to drive, or take a cab!
