I have gone to Sunday night weddings in the past. They are not always my favorite - but I just went to one a month ago and although it was tough getting up, I still had a good time.
If someone wants to, they'll take off. I dont think you should let that deter you!

I would. My DH was in a wedding on a Sunday night in Nov a few years back, we had a great time. We went to work the next day, but many made it a long weekend. It is becoming much more popular.

I would definitely prefer a Sunday afternoon if that is an option. We went to a Monday night wedding Memorial Day (which is like a Sunday with no work but work the next day). We left early when we wanted to stay and as it was were really hurting at work. I understand not being able to afford a Sat. night, but I think a Sunday afternoon is more considerate of guests.

I would go. FH and I always try to go to any event we are invited to. From birthdays to weddings! I could understand your concern, but everyone and anyone who matters will go no matter when the wedding is held.
I asked the same question, b/c I'm getting married the Thursday before you.... And the answers I got were, If they love you, they'll be there!!!!

If I were an out of towner--if I could get off work on Monday, I would. If I were an in-towner, there wouldn't be a question that I'd go.

Our reception was a Sunday night in November from 6-11. With just a few exceptions, all the people who were important to us were there. The ones who didn't make it were the ones we thought wouldn't come, regardless of when the reception would have been because of cost, babysitting problems, etc.

i think this question is silly...
its your day, you do what you want. your guest will come..if not they really need to have somthing important going on the next day. work i dont think counts. if you get a few less hour sleep..omg, is the world gonna end? ... no
We had a Sunday (eveing) wedding. Most came and stayed most of the time. ended at 10:30 and we were out in Baiting Hollow.
We werent going to have the wedding there cause we didnt want ppl to drive far. but whatever, its your day, do it your way.
If they dont show up, they are selfish...honestly, how many weddings do people go to?

If it was a friend or family member, I would definitely go! (although I would be happy to go to a wedding any day of the week)! So what if I am a little tired for the rest of the week, it is totally worth it!
Now if I was invited to a wedding of a friend who I wasn't very close with or a distant family member, I may be more likely to say no for a Sunday night than a Friday or Saturday.....(which almost makes me wish I had planned mine on a Sunday, to weed out some of the less close family members who FFIL wants to invite )

I would go and have a great time bc two people that I care about would be getting married! If I'm tired the next day, oh well!

I went through the same thing, would people actually come to a Sunday wedding, and what I found out was the people that really matter and that you really matter too, will come no matter what day it is

I would go, but if I had work the next day, I would have to time it so that I would be home no later than 11:00 pm.
