My band just sent me a timeline questionnaire. Some of the questions I cannot answer yet (time of dinner, who's giving toasts, etc), but I am working on what I can ... does anyone know what the order of the introductions are at the reception? I only have a MOH and BM - I want our parents introduced - but I think that's it. I currently have it as parents of the groom, parents of the bride, best man, and then matron on honor. I think I want the BM and MOH done seperately, since we only have the two people in the BP. Is that the right order?

Re: Order of introductions at reception
You can definitely do it anyway you want.
Generally, I think it's been Brides Parents, Grooms Parents, Bridesmaid & Groomsman, MOH & BM, ring bearers and flower girls, and then the Bride and Groom.

That sounds right. They did my parents first, then DH's mom escorted by her brother (his dad was too sick to come). then the bridal party, but i think it would be nice if you did the BM and MOH separate too.

I think you can do it in whatever order you want. We did grandparents first, then my parents, DHs parents, flower girl and ring berrer, BM's and GM, then MOH and BM, then us.

We did Dh's parents then mine then the BP, I think introducing the BM & MOH seperate is a good idea

Re: Order of introductions at reception
I forgot about my flower girl!!! She will only be 1.5 y.o. and she is my sister's daughter so I think they will walk out together.
So the bride's parents come first? I don't know why I thought it was the other way around. They are hosting, but FH's parents are paying for the band. Does anyone say 'The Bride's Parents, Your Hosts, Mr and Mrs ... ' anymore? Is that tacky? Is it right if FH's parents are providing some money?
Also, does it make sense to say who the GM and MOH are to the bride and groom? As in 'the best man, the groom's brother, Tim ... ' ? I thought I wanted to do this, but when I wrote out the one for my sister and my niece, the flower girl, it got looooong with the explanations of who they were to me....

Re: Order of introductions at reception
I have a BP of 26 and it got totally out of control with explaining who was who.. My GP's are first, then his GP's, My mom and my Uncle (my parents are divorced), My dad and his wife, FG's and RB, then BM's and Ushers, BM and MOH and then us.. I can't mention whos hosting because my parents, FH and me are paying for everything so with whatever FH contributes is basically 'his parents' because they can't afford it right now... FH doesn't want his family to be slighted, so I understand... IMO there is no 'order' just do what you want

Re: Order of introductions at reception
So is it that the most important people (aside from the bride and groom) come FIRST? I kinda always thought the more important the person was, or the bigger role they played in the wedding, the closer they came out to the bride and groom ... ? Seems like everyone's saying the opposite?

That's how I had it originally, but it seems my parents should go first?
Is there anything wrong with doing the MOH and BM first, then parents?
SO CONFUSING!

Re: Order of introductions at reception
From fairytaleweddingshop.com:
Introduction of wedding party This step is not mandatory, but it is nice for everyone to know who the wedding party is as many have not met before your wedding. Create a “Reception Planning Guide” and give this to your master of ceremonies prior to your wedding. This details, among other things, the order of entrance into the reception site with their names and titles. The order of entrance is as follows: parents of the bride, parents of the groom, ushers with bridesmaids, flower girl and ring bearer, special guests, best man, maid/matron of honor, bride and groom. In addition, review the pronunciations of the wedding party's names with the master of ceremonies.
