Order of planning for your wedding

Order of planning for your wedding

So I'm a couple weeks away from the 1-year mark and for me that was when i was going to start (allow myself) more planning. So far, I've booked the venue (ceremony being held there too) and also booked Complete Wedding Packages for photo/video/DJ.

What order has everyone else been doing everything in? Here's what I think I have left to do - in no particular order right now.

My dress
My accessories
Bridesmaid dresses
Men's tuxes/suits
Flowers
Invitations
Favors (may be a little bit of a DIY but not entirely)
Wedding bands
Picking music
Cake tasting/selection
Officiant
Gifts for bridal party
Hair/make up trial (I know who I am using but still want to do trial)
Honeymoon
Schedule rehearsal (don't know of Fox Hollow allows this on site or not) / rehearsal dinner
Programs (a maybe to do at all)

Am i missing anything??

I am currently 16 months and 5 days away - this is what I have:
Venue, Band, Photo&Video

We are actually going to a travel show at Hofstra sat to pick our honeymoon and we are facetiming with an Officiant on the 15th that we are pretty positive we are going to use.

I am going on Good Friday to do dress shopping for my mom, my MOH and start looking for myself.
As far as centerpieces we already know what we want but now we just have to decide if we are going to do them ourselves or have a florist do them.

I think you are headed down the right path - I would (because I have OCD) put the things you have left to do in an order of where they occur (I.E. - Officiant goes with ceremony, programs go with ceremony)

You are looking to be in great shape and I am right behind you!

Like that idea! When i put it into my spreadsheet (yep, i have one) i will organize it better!

Girl, you and me both! I have a spreadsheet for everything I have paid for and each deposit amount. I have a spreadsheet for our guests and one for our tables... I am slightly nutty and OCD. I just took care of things in the order I felt was important. Got the venue, the hotel blocks done, the band, the video and photo and now im doing honeymoon and officiant within the next 2 weeks. After that I will start investingating the centerpieces I have in mind. I already picked out my bridesmaids gifts I am getting them Alex & Ani bracelets along with a vera b cosmetics bag in my wedding colors and the bridesmaids dvd!
Just have to give more thought to the groomsmen gifts we've got some ideas up our sleeves.

Were starting to send out Engagement Party invites soon since the Engagement party is in August. We ordered them and have them I have put them each in envelopes but felt like it was a little too soon to begin sending them out.

You seem to have it all taken care of. Husband and I exchanged gifts with one another the day of. (letter and little gift) Not sure if you will be doing the same. Also what about your vows. Hubby wanted us to write our own, like I was not already going to be an emotional rollercoaster that day. Lol Glad we did though because it just made it more personable =)

Great to hear that we don't need a rehearsal in there!!!

Also, i am going to add write vows to our list just in case. I love the idea...not sure if i could do it though!

My wedding is next month. I'm the queen of spreadsheets hahaha. Complete OCD, Type A. I did the venue within the first month of planning, which was last January. I had my dress bought in April. And just took it from there. Before the summer came I had all my vendors booked. I think your list looks good. Happy Planning.
