ordering gown from Phyllis or Burton's, any experience?
everyone tells me I should check with Burton's or Phyllis to get a better price on a dress. It seems like alot of girls have done this.
I did call on 2 styles I like and their prices were both a good savings.
Any opinions on one place over the other? Any reasons not to do it this way?
Thanks!

People at Burtons are very rude. I would definately not get my bridal gown from there. I got the bridesmaids dresses from there, but not my gown. They do give you a significant savings, but you get what you pay for as far as service in my opinion. I would put up with it to save $ on a bridesmaid dress, but would not put up with it for my wedding gown.

I didnt get my dress from phyllis, but she did my alterations and custom made a bolero jacket for me. All I can say is she is amazing. Getting married and being 4 1/2 months pregnant, she did the majority of the alterations right before my wedding just in case I grew a little, she really did an outstanding job

Phyllis from gownfind.com she does alterations and gets you great prices on your dress and Bridesmaid dresses.
They have changed the name to Bridal Elegance though, even though gownfind.com is still up and running. New website is www.bridaleleganceNY.com

I ordered my dress through Phyllis. Her price on my dress was $350 cheaper than the salon and she capped my alterations at $150 (I think it's $175 now). She was great with my alterations. My dress is all done and just waiting for me to pick it up. She was great!!!

I went to the new website for the first time and it's acting very weird! Has anyone checked out the bridal elegance site? You click on something, say accessories, and then all of a sudden the menu is in Spanish!!

I got my gown at Burton's and had no problems at all - the dress came in on time and they did a kick-*** job with alterations. Seriously, I lost so much weight due to stress and going to the gym they even had to take my corset bra in before the wedding!! I was so nervous and the dress looked amazing the day of my wedding. Their place is not a fancy salon or anything, but if you're looking to save a few bucks, I would have no hesitation going with them. I live in NYC so it was a pain for me to get out there for alterations, but they were even accommodating enough to squeeze me in and come in early so I could get my fittings done! Also, it's worth noting that I got my dress for $800 less at their place than at Kleinfelds in NYC!!! That is big....And their alterations are reasonable too. One of the women there is a little rough around the edges, but really, they were all very nice....I'd recommend them.

I used Burtons for my gown, my sister used them and I also know a lot of people who used them. They are great! My alterations were perfect. I too lost a lot of weight and they had to keep taking the dress in. They also did an awsome job on my french bustle. They also only charge for hem alterations and bustle.

I used Phyllis only for alterations, but she is phenomenal. Read my review for specific details on what she did to my dress!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Both of them gave me prices that were like 20%-25% off hte prices I got at other salons! I don't mind that it isn't a fancy salon, I can surely spend that $$ on something else!
