Ordering my invitations today! Help please

Ordering my invitations today! Help please

I'm ordering my invitations today and I don't know how to word the info card. I've seen a lot of sample invites that have a card that goes something like this:
Additional Information
Please see our wedding website
for directions and weekend details.
www.blahblahblah.com

I'd like to do something like this, but also mention that we will have a pot-luck style BBQ the night before the wedding on the same card. I am including a separate direction card also, so maybe I should leave out the part that says see the website for directions?

I'm also wondering if having these two things on one card will seem hodgepodge, but I don't want too many inserts either. I already have 4: the invite, reception card, response card and map with directions on reverse.

Did anyone else have a pre-wedding event that they mentioned in the invite? Did you also ask people to RSVP or just leave it alone?

TIA!

We are having pre-wedding festivities but inviting only 35 people to that (as opposed to the 200 invited to the wedding). For this pre-wedding event, we didn't have formal invitations... I just sent out an email to those people or called them.

You could include your website address on either the directions card or the RSVP card, but then you may have people who RSVP via your website and not your card. I'd go with the directions card, and not the actual invitation itself.

I agree that this should not go in same envelope/same invitation. I would do seperatly.
Why not make your own inviations for the BBQ or just do it word of mouth?
It's two seperate days, --- two seperate invites.

I had another idea. After I get back the RSVPs I can send a separate invite only to those who RSVPd yes for the wedding! Does this sound better?

Yes that sounds better.
A friend of mine who got married last month had a Sunday brunch for the day after the wedding, and he sent a separate invitation for that which arrived soon after the RSVP deadline.
