Ordering your dress

So here we go.....

I still have not ordered my dress because I can not decide what color I want it in, White or Diamond white......so I keep putting it off......

How long beffore your wedding are you ordering yours??

I was told the designer of my dress takes anywhere from 6-9 months to come in......

My wedding is in Sept 07 and I am going to start looking now. So if I find my dress this weekend, I am ordering it! But I would probably order mine 1 year in advance because I am neurotic! Although I think the norm is 9-10 months in advance.

I ordered my dress last October and my wedding is this October. The dress came in around February.... very early since I don't have to start my fittings until August!!! You have time!

I'd try on any dress in white/diamond white & see what color looks best on you.

I was told my dress would take about 6 months to come in, but I got a call less than months later that it was in....

I ordered my dress Nov. 1 & it was in Jan. 10

I ordered mine in Sept 05 and in came in February 06 for my Sept -06 wedding.

I think if you see something that you are sure of, go ahead and order it now! It is def. not too early for you. Especially when it takes a long time to come in. I ordered mine in early Sept. and it just came in this monday!

I ordered my dress for my Sept. 2006 wedding in October 2005. It just came in last week.

I ordered my dress last month (1yr 1/2 before my wedding). I didn't plan on it but I found THE ONE and knew I would look anywhere else. However I do not know when it will come in. I should have asked that.

I ordered my dress August 20, 2005 for my October 8, 2006 wedding. Although I told the salon the wedding was September 3, 2006 at the time I ordered it. I have since corrected the wedding date with them. It came in April 5. I visit it tomorrow!!!

well, most salons will tell you3-4 months as a rough, long estimate so that you don't walk in a month before expecting a miracle...but if it will def. take 6-9, then you should really take that into consideration...my dress took 2 months but i can't have my fittings started until May to ensure that they have enough time to do it and press the dress again before the wedding.

if it takes 6-9 months and you are getting married in sept. 07 (i believe that's correct) then you should decide/order NO later than january 07 for sure so that it arrives for fittings...if they lean closer to the 9, by November 06...sounds silly, but this is your dress we're talking about.

I ordered my gown 1 year before my wedding because it took 9 months to come and I needed to allow time for 3 fittings.


ETA: It took me 7 months to find the gown of my dreams
