I think the actor's race is between Leo and Jamie Foxx ... but I think in the end Jamie Foxx is gonna take it, especially bc he was nominated for both Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor.

But truly I haven't seen ANY of the nominated movies so I cannot judge whatsoever

ETA: Johnny Depp is the greatest actor of all time imo, so I am first rallying for Leo, then Johnny

of the best pic nominees i've only seen 'the aviator' and while many of the performances were awesome the movie was awful. i wanted my money back after i saw it b/c i honestly felt like i had just spent 3 hours visiting a sick relative in the hospital. that said, leo gave a great performance and i'd love to see him win, but i should probably see some of the other movies first!

I think Jamie Foxx will probably win for Ray, but I haven't seen it. I think it's kind of ridiculous he got nominated for Collateral though.

It's tough, but if I have to choose I would love to see Jamie Foxx get it. He has definitely shown his range in his last couple of movies. Don Cheadle was great in Hotel Rwanda. He did an amazing job with the true life story.

IMO, I don't think Leo DiCaprio is a such a great actor. I think his acting is good, but is praised bc been part of movies with good plots, stories, etc....

I totally agree re: Jamie Foxx in Collateral (I cannot comment re: Ray bc I didn't see it.. but I hear he was incredible in that role)

I not only thought Collateral stunk, he really he didn't impress me much in it!! Its like a million actors could have played that role just as well, IMO .

It's as if he got the nomination because the acting he did was good considering it was only Jamie Foxx because no one would expect him to be a really good actor. In regards to Collateral, not Ray.

I don't care who wins as long as Sideways Loses.

I haven't seen a movie so bad since I saw The Hulk, and at least The Hulk had the decency to put me to sleep.

I would really like to see Jamie Foxx win for Ray, he was really amazing in that movie, but I just don't know because Leo already won the golden globe, so he might take the Oscar this year. I haven't seen the Aviator, but heard it's great. If Jamie Foxx doesn't win it for Ray, then I don't know if another role is going to come along where he'll be that good...It's a tough one. BUT I ALWAYS would be very happy to see Johnny Depp win an Oscar because he is just amazing, but he may be beat out by LEO or Jamie....I will be watching!!

I agree. Leo's performance was great but the movie dragged and after awhile I was wishing for the end to hurry up and finally come. It was a long movie.
